in the nation. Would you say our OL showed improvement over the last couple of seasons? It looked to me as though they gave Cade more time in the pocket.

Zero sacks allowed on the day. I'd say that's a huge improvement. The run blocking could've been better.
Mistake. One sack allowed. Still great improvement.

Agree. We did pick up several 3rd and shorts up the middle so that’s encouraging too.

Yes almost positive that was called a sack not intentional grounding.

Cade was brought down for a loss multiple times

May not have technically been ‘sacks’…since he probably got out of the pocket..but it’s the same effect in losing yards due to OL. OL looks better…but the ‘zero sacks’ is deceptive….I hope we aren’t putting up any banners for that.

The olines job is to protect the QB in the pocket. If the QB decides to bail and not trust the pocket that's on him. Not the Oline.
There was one sack. My mistake. J. Walker from UGA recorded a sack.
The OP asked do we think the Oline improved playing against the number one team in the country. I think they did and provided evidence from the game statistics.

I saw one as well. Maybe they put it on Cade but a sack is a sack.

IMO the OL looked substantially better. You can't run block when the D has 11 men and two cheerleaders in the box, because your QB waits to long to throw to open receivers, or your receiver is running around in circles because he cannot run a route. I expect to see alot more of the young receivers, and if the QB can get them the ball at least some of the time, this OL will open some holes for Mafah.

I have no real concern over the OL.

UGA loaded the box. The OL did a good job in pass pro and run blocking, or so it seemed to me.
My concern is the lack of throwing that ball into the intermediate range. I have no idea why that was not an integral part of the game plan.

Georgia played 2 high safeties the entire game. They dared yall to run into a 5 man box........you couldn't.

Not true.... You played 8 in the box on first down, 7 in the box with two deep safeties on every other down unless we had 4 WRs... let's not be dramatic.

Huge improvement.... Yes, I wish we could have run it better, however, UGA is one of the best defenses in the nation and we did nothing to make them take guys away from the line of scrimmage.
The announcers even said it during the game... something along the lines of "every first down they bring a safety into the box and play 2 deep on every other down". Why would UGA do anything but sell out to stop the run? What has our offense shown to make them respect our passing game? Bring the 8th man into the box on first down, play press man on the outside with two deep over the top on every other down and keep everything in front of your 2 safeties.
The playbook has been out on how to stop our offense for quite some time now. We will see the same thing every week until we do something to make defenses respect our intermediate to deep passing game.

My last day here as a UGA fan.
Clemson gave up 2 sacks. Jalon Walker had 1.5 of them on Blake Miller who surprisingly struggled.
Clemson ran for 47 yards on 22 carries.
Clemson had less than 200 total yards.
I think that Oline is yalls second best offensive unit but it was great. Definitely didn't "hold your own"........

OL play was a positive... No sacks against UGay was something I would have not believed before the game started. Go Tigers!

yes, but for EVERYONE who thinks Clemson is a ONE issue program is blind....

everyone wants to discuss "what's the one problem to fix that will solve the clemson problem?"..........it started 4-5 years ago with 1-2 issues and has snowballed into a myriad of them. Those issues have either been slowplayed, ignored, or shrugged off by Dabo for the last several seasons. There are TWO very large issues that have yet to be addressed by Dabo and until that happens we will continue to float in the ACC ocean of mediocrity.

Thought the offensive line played well enough to win which is a huge improvement. Not their fault nobody could get open or hang on to the ball.

There was a marked improvement and they'll continue to get better as the year progresses.
Also , no injuries on that unit other than Tate and that fortunately for us isn't critical.
Still need to develop more depth so we can sub more often , especially against a front like Georgia. We won't see a D line like that again until we see FSU , who apparently is overrated .
