But isn’t he asking the private beer industry who self-regulates advertising to minors to look into this, vs launching a govt inquiry? Haven’t read up on it so I could be wrong, but that was the synopsis I heard on a podcast I was listening to yesterday.

Completely disagree with that if so. I do believe there are facets of the trans debate that could merit govt intervention, but this ain’t it. This has been a massively useless distraction in conservative circles.

A fascist government generally intertwines with private business to strong arm them into their bidding.

If you're referring to the Mueller Report, it wasn't a hoax and there were multiple arrests and convictions. It's fun to have this opportunity to remind people of it, so I'd appreciate if you continue forgetting.

The Mueller report found no proof of Russian collusion by the Trump campaign.

It found plenty of collusion. "Collusion" isn't a crime. There were plenty of indictments, arrests, and convictions.

Mostly because the two guys who seemingly did the actual colluding with Russians - Paul Manafort and Roger Stone, they of BMSK fame - both went to jail rather than roll on Trump, and Trump then pardoned them, which kind of left Mueller unable to proceed further. Those two have been working the dark end of K Street since their BMSK days during Richard Nixon's term. Can you imagine the screeching that would ensue if Joe Biden were to pardon Hunter?
The problem is all this was 783 Trump crisis ago, and Trump tends to commit misdeeds so fast settling on one and holding to him account for it is almost impossible. It's actually kind of a novel approach...if you're gonna crime, commit crimes so incredibly fast nobody remembers the one you did a year or two years ago, then kick the ones you're dealing with now down the road...where they will then be buried under the next barrage of headlines you make.
It's seemed to work for him...until it doesn't. Like I keep saying, if you kick the can down the road long enough, eventually you do run out of road. We may (finally) be getting close to that point.
Of course, if the Feds don't get Trump convicted before he takes office, if he wins the election, he may escape them yet again.

Chaired by Republican Senator Rubio who concluded in a report that there was Russian “interference” in the 2016 election on be behalf of Donald Trump. Mueller convictions of Gates, Flynn, Manafort et al confirmed some aspects of Russian involvement.
There was insufficient evidence to say the 2016 Trump campaign criminally colluded with Russia.
Regarding US taxpayers dollars, Mueller’s investigation produced substantially greater return in terms of convictions versus Durham.

Private business screws up with a dumb marketing ploy, let natural consequences take place instead of demanding a congressional hearing. I heard there MIGHT be more important issues to take up in lieu of that stupid political grandstanding.

The Beer Institute (which btw, would be a great place to get a degree from), but his calling for Congressional oversight on a private company's advertising campaign is WAY over the top.
I heard Cruz speak on something (don't remember) recently and thought "that guy is really smart...I'm not sure why I don't like him more"....now I remember why.
