all the rest of you up here, or down, or over here next weekend. Hell, if there was room for 10,000 people at my house, you could all stay here. There is a buzz around Duke football right now that I've never seen and we're going to need all the orange we can get in the stands next Saturday night. Even if you don't have tickets, you can easily find them online beforehand or outside the gates. Duke was selling them at a discount to grad students for $10. Let's turn this into Clemson North next Saturday. If you have any questions about parking, dining, Durham nightlife, etc let me know and I'll try to answer them.
Hope to see a lot of orange next weekend!

Devines Sports Bar on Main

and Tobacco Road Sports Bar are my two favorite spots in Durham, but where else? Seems like tailgating is pretty easily available at Duke, but maybe now that fans are going to games that has changed?

I would recommend The Federal on West Main St

It's not TOO far away from the stadium, but it's still a couple of miles. It's also a few doors down from Alivia's which is another good option.

Three places right in a row. You can't go wrong there, really.
The Federal, Alivia's, and Devine's.

Many older Clemson fans will only have a couple more chances to see the tigers play in Duke.

Here's a list of Durham restaurants/bars I recommend for

pre and post-game meals and drinks. These are all places I actually visit regularly, so I speak with some experience in this matter. Also, this is just a small sampling of the many excellent pubs and restaurants around here. Durham does know its food and there are LOTS of great choices around here.
Bull City Burger and Brewery 107 East Parrish St. Luke, the head brewer there is a friend of mine. He's a Ga Tech grad, but a good guy and makes the best beer in town. Good burgers too with all local meats and they make their own buns.
Fullsteam Brewery 726 Rigsbee Ave. Pretty good beer, no food unfortunately, but great atmosphere. It's in the same neighborhood as the old Durham Bulls Stadium
Geer St Beer Garden 644 Foster St. Right around the corner from Fullsteam. Great indoor/outdoor bistro with good food and good beer selection
The Federal Great beer selection, good food, great bar to hang out in. One large screen TV. Right on main stret across from Brightleaf Square. Next door to The Fed is another good drinking bar, The James Joyce.
Bull McCabes 427 W. Main Street. Decent pub food, good beer selection, indoor/outdoor seating.
Toast 345 West Main St. Great sandwiches and soups if you want a quick and cheap lunch.
Whiskey 347 West Main St. If you have a lot of money to spend on the best Scotch and Whiskey, this is the place. Not a sports bar, not a place to eat. This is a leather sofa, low lighting, whiskey bar. $$$$, but good.
Parker and Otis 112 S. Duke St. If you're looking for a place to get a good breakfast Sunday morning, this is the place. Good coffee too.
Elmo's Diner 776 Ninth St. If you're looking for another place to get a good breakfast, this is also the place. Can be crowded. Large portions, very cheap prices.
Broad St Cafe 1116 Broad St. Good food, good atmosphere. Highly recommend their pizzas.
Cosmic Cantina 1920 Perry St (just off 9th st) This is a late-night sort of place with pretty good burritos. This is where you go at 2:00 am when you've had a few drinks and you have to have some Mexican food.
Six Plates 2812 Erwin Road. I almost can't say enough good things about this place. Small tapas restaurant. They do have a couple of TVs at the bar. Right across Erwin Road is Duke's West Campus, where Wallace Wade is.
Old Havana Sandwich Shop 310 East Main St. The sandwiches here are stupidly good. Whatever they do to the pork is unreal. Good prices.
misc. Lots of food trucks in and around Durham as well. Look out for them. They can often be found around Geer St and Rigsbee St.
9th Street in Durham is home to several bars, Dain's place, Mitch's, Charlie's Pub.
West Main St in Durham also has lots of food and beverage choices.
Sam's Quik Shop 1605 Erwin Road. This is the best beer store in this area. If you can think of it, they probably have it. Even if you can't think of it, they probably have that too
The closest liquor store to campus is the ABC store at 2806 Hillsborough Road. Liquor stores close at 9 pm here.
If you're up here next weekend, check out some of these places. You won't be disappointed!

One last point

Wallace Wade stadium is on Duke's West Campus, kind of near the Chapel. There is a free bus service that runs throughout downtown Durham (and down Erwin Road, which runs along West Campus) called the Bull City Connector. It's a great service, with buses ever 15 minutes I think. I've never seen it crowded and it's a great option if you want to park in downtown Durham and ride closer to campus.

said it's pretty good. Kind of a glorified cafeteria, but not bad. Maybe a bit on the generic side. Supposed to be a decent enough hotel though.

Millenium is a great hotel and Ive stayed there a couple times and would recommend it, but the "sleep lab" for Duke Hospital used to be on one of the wings there and every now and then youd see people walking around at 6am that had been up all night, looking like zombies. Ive been there for work and not sure if thats the norm. Not a deal breaker, and not nearly as weird as Dragon Con invasion in Atlanta this year. Having said that I was just about to recommend Millenium. Very good proximity to campus, usually reasonable, and nice people.
If youre staying there, I recommend Bullocks BBQ on Hillsborough, very short distance. Its been around forever and cant beat the food, no adult beverages though.
