Crighton was ejected because he left his position on the field. The explanation was the inning was over and when he saw it was over he should have run straight to the dugout rather than turning left at home and running toward the incident by first base.
Well, watch the video. I found a video linked below. Go the one 1:50 mark and start watching the full field video. Crighton is rounding third base. Pay close attention to the gator 1st baseman, 2nd baseman, shortstop, third baseman and catcher. And, remember their dugout is on the third base side of the field.
If Crighton is guilty of "leaving his position on the field" because he went toward the incident, then why weren't those 4 players ejected for the same reason.
Actually, even the outfielders ran toward the incident, not toward their dugout.
Caglione is the only guy who went toward the dugout. The first baseman came up and physically confronted the baserunner.
The umpire stepped in front of the second baseman and stopped him from heading to the confrontation.
Note: I'm not saying all those guys should have been thrown out. No one should have been ejected. It's baseball. But, for the umps to single out one Clemson player and ignore the entire UF infield, especially the first baseman, is ridiculous.

On the wide angle, you can see 2 from the FL dugout that crossed the 3rd base line and went almost to the pitchers mound. Why weren't they ejected? They left their position on the pine.

Me too.
But I think most are missing the bigger picture. Crighton hit a solid double the first time he faced cags. Umps huddled and esecpn buzzed them and said get that guy out, he hit cags too solid.
Really sad to think that way, but my bud Olie got walked twice. That strike zone changed depending on which team was pitching.
I hope we turn down any offer to join those thugs. I'd rather go to the b12.

Amen Brother. We would be lowering our standards if we join the corrupt SEC. Don't want anything to do with that mangy conference. Its very obvious the umps were on the take. Someone posted earlier that UGA already has this game tonight won. The fix is on in that game too. Just watch.

NC State's only hope is a slew of no-doubt HRs, nowhere near the foul pole. And never let it get close.
Even then, there's always the old reliable made-to-order strike zone. There's nothing it can't fix.

That was really awful what they did to Ollie. On 3 - 1 the pitch was high and outside and the ump didn't like Ollie tossing the bat and walking toward 1st. So the next pitch was low and inside and the ump rang him up ....... pitful!

Wasn't he ejected for running into the pitcher that crossed in front of him in the base line and the ump ejected him for protected himself at the point of the collision!!! It's sad that our players weren't issued wings to fly over anybody that crosses right in front of them...

.... the UF first baseman who pushed the batter after Caglioni had already left the scene and was headed to the dugout.

This. The first baseman should definitely have been ejected even before Caglinone or Nawrocki. Unbelievable he wasn’t tossed.

About time someone pointed out the fl players all left their positions and the two who entered the field of play from off the bench. Total BS.

on the part of the umps. That and the inconsistent strike zone. Something was off with that crew. When announcers are calling you out the next day on national tv, then you know there was bs.
