I'm convinced everyone hates craft beer

but is afraid of being considered a rube if they don't play along with that fad.

Agreed. Not hate, but it is past its prime.

Brewpubs etc were the teats 30 years ago. They spread from West to East. Then the IPA (high alcohol) thing came along and maintained it for another few years.

Now people are on to liquor (mostly Bourbon), lower calorie drinks (seltzers, “hard” soft drinks) and back to good old pilsners/lagers, which have always been the top selling beers.

Ain’t no dayum way, aside from the high alcohol, anyone can convince me a hazy DIPA is better than a cold, full pint of a decent pilsner (Urquell, Bit, DAB, 1664, etc.).

I don't like the DIPAs either but love the hazy

Microbrews round here have a selection besides IPAs.

I see lots of double IPAs in cans, but not on tap.

Pilsners are great and so are witbiers, especially in summer.

I just let people know that I don't like IPA's and all that stuff. I would rather just have an ice cold Stella or something like that....even a Haineken. On a similar note, supposedly an industry that is growing extremely fast is the non-alcoholic craft beer scene. So many people are going sober, but I guess for social reasons they want beer while out. There are even some non alcohol restaurants that are all caught up in these new non-alcohol drinks, beer, wine, sparkling wine. Sean Brock supposedly opened one. Anyway, craft beers are overrated jmo.

Can confirm the non alc category has exploded in the last 2 years.

When Sierra Nevada came out w “hop splash (hop flavored water) I didn’t think it would do anything much. I sell 2 cases a week in the stores it’s in, which is good velocity for a single new sku.

alcohol content bursting with taste beer as opposed to watered down mass produced domestic alternatives and stale European imports that smell like skunk.

Craft beer is a production style not a beer style

The best Pilsner I’ve ever had had was from a little craft brewery in Brevard.

But you can keep giving your money to the mega corp multinationals if that’s your thing

I was actually quite happy with everything I tried from them when we were at White Squirrel this past May.

ringofhonor-rhtig.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

wait, you don't have to get a IPA at a brewery?

Whisky and wine are for fall and winter, and Gin is for summer. IPAs are mostly disgusting.
