Looks like he was one of the best high school players in the state of WV, but he doesn't even have a recruiting profile on Rivals or ESPN. 24/7 has him unranked with 0 stars and no scholarship offers.

Aren't most available scholarships given to walk-ons before the season starts? I wonder where the coach is going to pull the scholarship from. Maybe he's promising him a scholarship once one becomes available.
