Went out for lunch and saw a dude walking across the parking lot wearing a sweat hoodie (with the hoodie on place over his head) and jeans and boots.
I saw some teenagers earlier this week wearing similar outfits. Monday it was like a buck 10 out there at lunch.
I mean I like it hot outside, but holy ish, it's dammm near 90 with just about the same % humidity. Is everyone a heroin addict?

Hot as Satan's taint, and they're both wearing black pants and black hoodies. Make it make sense.

Made same observation in Uptown and discussed it with Mrs Pabst last weekend when we were riding one of the trains.
Typically wearing a sling type pack a swell, or some type of pack.
Oh and some type of buff or face covering.

I understand covering up from the sun.

This is like covering up from the sun with a blanket...clinging to your body, out IN the sun.

I wear very light long-sleeved shirts in summer for many reasons, sun protection, bugs/ticks (i often stop and walk land for work or see projects) and covers my carry.
This is something totally different with these goodies, buffs up and packs.

on how many people had on pullover jackets or hoodies on. The air temp that day was probably 86/87 and on the street at the festival, I'm sure it was much warmer. These weren't teenagers either, most looked like late 29s/early 30s.

If that were true, we'd have a country full of Navy Seals.
That's obviously not true.

I asked a guy once when I was on a summer grass crew during college

who wore one with a stocking hat. He said insulation works both ways- keeps heat in in the winter, out in the summer.
Kinda makes sense but I’m not going to try it.

No freaking way!
I was near Emporia VA on unmaintained lob pine silviculture site yesterday, and there's ZERO chance you wear a black cloth hoodie and walk more than 1/2 mile before u drop.

I usually wear shorts/hoodie in the summer when I can b/c of air conditioning

I freeze easily and I've found that combo works well for me to deal with the extreme temperature swings of outside vs inside.

East or out west? When I visit little Pabst in LA I always bring a heavy hoodie even in summer.

but the times I've been out west (mostly for vacation), I've done the same or similar with long-sleeve shirts/hoodie.

Most of the time it was long pants and long sleeve shirt weather. When it got up to 80 degrees, I wore shorts. But #### if the brits don't just refuse to wear shorts or short sleeves. Nope, 80 degrees wearing long pants, long sleeve shirts, and jackets. And then they complain about the heat, lol.
