Enjoyed the excerpt. Pierced by what I don’t understand about our young people. God give me wisdom.

Well written and a trifle anti-white in viewpoint but I'm wondering if that changed as I see he's working on a graduate degree in Theology from Emory?

...is he saying that he had to compete for his playing time because of racism? We all compete every day for things, but I dont blame anyone else when I lose. I may think of reasons, but in the end, maybe I wasnt the best.
I would agree that as a black athlete, a lot is expected of him to make the best of his opportunity, but is that not the same with ALL athletes at this level? If Shipley were to get caught selling drugs, we would be just as ashamed of him as if any of our starters were to do stupid stuff like that.
To me, he was given a chance that many never get close to and should be thankful for the opportunity, rather than expecting some artificial outcome.
And to the reference of Clemson being a "white university", I wish people would return to the vision of MLK and view everyone and everything on the content of their character. I think people of all races are treated very fairly at Clemson and dont think that label is fair or warranted.
