Would you favor an ACC tiebreaker

That - in the event of a tie, whether it’s two way or three way, the highest ranked teams will in the college football rankings will play for the title? Forget common opponents, or records of opponents. Would you favor letting the teams that have the most to gain for the conference play for the championship?

This is a double-edged sword. Playing in the game also gives you a lot to lose, as a bubble team. If Clemson is 11-1 and ranked around 8 in the country and does not play in the game, and Miami beats SMU, I'd feel pretty good about our chances to make the playoff.

If Clemson is 11-1, ranked around 8 in the country, and loses to Miami, we would drop and IMO would be less likely to make the field.

The analytics support this same logic. ESPN's Playoff Predictor gives Clemson a 99% chance to make the CFP if we win out and do not play in the ACCCG. If we win out and lose the ACCCG, our odds drop to 72%.

The ACC goes out of its way to make things unnecessarily complicated.***

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

The SEC has the same tiebreaker.

What could be more simple. Head to Head, than the highest ranked team by the committee. Anything
else IMO is ludicrous.

Then you are relying on a committee with no affiliation with your conference to dictate who plays in the game. I think the conferences feel like that gives up too much control. They want to keep the tiebreak decisions within the conference. And they want to ignore any non-conference games.

That's what you get when you have 20000 teams in your conference.***

No, I am okay with the tie-breaker system in place. I would rather not have my fate controlled by people who could keep me out of the CFP because my quarterback was injured.
