The Braves

Last night, I watched the Braves lose their 6th straight game. Chipper Jones has played in 0 of those games, in fact with Chipper in the lineup this year the Braves have only 3. He is hitting in the 300's with no worries, but when Chipper doesn't play the team is a mess. Mike Minor is having the worst type of 3rd year possible, and both Brian McCann and David Ross are injured leaving the Braves with options from Gwinett. There are bright spots, like Martin Prado slapping doubles all over the place, Michael Bourn hustling up the line for a single and Brandon Beachy's killer ERA, but there is just something going on. J Hey is hitting below 240, in a year that saw him start off hot as a pistol. Freddie Freeman is going through the highly predictable Sophomore Slump, and Chipper's replacement, Juan Francisco had three errors in one game earlier this year. Whatever the problem is, Fredi Gonzalez needs to have a meeting about it, because the Braves are looking like a fast sinking ship.

completely against us right now. We need to find a way to turn it around...and fast. The interleague schedule is going to be rough if we can't.

a week or so. Chipper is on the 15 day DL now, so maybe that line drive shot he took to the leg that has him out will heal. A long, long season still ahead of the Braves. Hopefully, this is just one of those bumps in the road on the way to a playoff appearance.

nightmare for him. Sounds a lot like McCann's problems which I'm not sure have ever been totally fixed. Ever notice how much he squints when he bats?

Not his best but not terrible. The BP has been blowing a lot of games. I blame it on the BP and the injuries right now. both things i think will turn it around. The starting pitching has done well as of late in my opinion (with the exception of minor and hudsons most recent start, which he looked great in besides 1.1 innings of it)
