Just watched Josh Pate predict we lose by at least 13.
The crazy stat: Clemson is 0-13 on the road vs AP top 5 teams.
Can anyone verify??

It’s true.
The top ranked games Clemson has played in and won, we’ve been lucky enough to have at home. Especially recently.

Most teams do have similar stats, but a number of the national title contenders have better records against top 5 teams away. Ohio State is 12-14 in top 5 matchups this century, and about half of those were away games. Kirby Smart is 3-1. Alabama has the best record in away games against top 5 teams, but didn't count all of them since they're not playing.
To be fair, it is a misleading stat, since it doesn't take into account neutral games and Dabo actually hasn't had that many top 5 away games. By my count, Dabo is only 0-4 against top 5 teams away. We lost to Auburn in 2010 in overtime. We lost to South Carolina in 2013. We lost to Florida State in 2014. And we lost to Notre Dame in 2020.
What we did in the 1970s is pretty irrelevant to me.

As I said below, to get the 0-13 number Pate used, you have to use the teams that were top 5 at the end of the year.

The 0-13 number only works if he's talking about our all-time record against teams ending the season in the top 5. By that metric, Dabo's losses are 2010 Auburn, 2013 South Carolina, 2014 FSU, and 2020 ND.

I pulled from Sports Reference which, I believe, is ranking at the time played. Either way, 0-3 or 0-4, in mostly closely contested games is not some giant red flag.

Texas has 2 elite QB's, not just 1...totally different styles, hard to scheme/prepare
Clemson is a big dog in this game, which makes sense. Texas lost to 1 team 2 times this year, and they played the 2nd game much stronger and had chances to win that game. That same team, beat our Tigers by 4 TD's. Does that really mean anything, maybe not since it was 1st game of season...but it is a fact
This Saturday is a big opportunity, Tigers will have to play their best game of the season. It is a very significant game, and a chance for Clemson to prove a lot of people wrong,
