Why shouldn't they be paid? NCAA makes billions. Coaches make millions. Players aren't even allowed to have sponsors or be in commercials? Why? No logical reason. It's just greed. If NCAA doesn't change, they are going to lose all their good players. They will start getting their qualified years playing for pro overseas and/or pro sports will start removing the limits altogether and then college sports are screwed. The "oh they get free education" argument is crap. I'm sure 100% of athletes, if given the choice between a scholarship or a share of NCAA profits and allowed to do sponsorships, they would choose profits and sponsorships any day. $80,000 in scholarship versus hundreds or thousands or millions in pay and sponsors. You don't need college to do that math.
