Will the "Real" Tigers Please stand up?

We were the Louisiana Fighting Tigers (1861) during the War of Northern Aggression (Civil War for the Yankees)
Louisiana Tigers History Link:
https://lsusports.net/news/2013/8/1/208876760.aspx
The Tiger became LSU's Mascot in 1895 with a state history back to 1861
The Tiger became Clemson's Mascot in 1896 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tiger_(mascot)
So for the record, Clemson is the Faux Tigers and LSU's tradition goes back to 1861...
"The regiment gained a reputation for unruliness, grit, rioting, and violence, and it was soon feared throughout the country. Although the Tiger Battalion was known to cause mayhem and chaos, it fought valiantly throughout the Civil War, gaining a reputation for never retreating, and once even resorted to throwing rocks during a battle when their ammunition ran out."
"Although the Tigers were a small fraction of Louisiana’s 12,000 troops, their reputation slowly grew to encompass all Louisiana soldiers. The reputation created such fear that a Pennsylvania woman fainted when a soldier, who politely asked for food, mentioned he was from Louisiana."
"The Louisiana Tiger’s proved to be one of the toughest, most dedicated battalions in the Civil War and were the only Confederate soldiers to break through the Union line at Gettysburg. The group fought in every major battle in Virginia throughout the Civil War and suffered high casualties. At the end of the Civil War, only 373 Tigers were left on active duty."
"Louisiana State University famously chose the Tiger mascot when Dr. Charles E. Coates, who oversaw choosing a name for the school’s football team, was told that Tiger soldiers were the toughest men to ever walk the earth."
https://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/the-real-louisiana-tigers.html The Real Louisiana Tigers The Civil War was the bloodiest ever war fought on the home soil of the United States. The war pitted North against South, brother against brother. The

Genius? Missouri have any Civil War unit named the Tigers?
I'll answer for you...NO...
If you could read, maybe you could see an actual "Tiger Tradition" going all the way back to 1861...but, you're too obtuse for that, right?

Clemson Tiger paper (Oct 9 1958, calling Memorial Stadium "Death Valley")

https://www.postandcourier.com/sports/sorry-lsu-but-clemson-s-football-stadium-is-the-original/article_7437d57a-9403-11e8-9023-8f903fe214b6.html
excerpt: “So that’s kind of how it started,” said Bourret, adding Clemson is still looking through newspaper archives to find the very first time the stadium was called Death Valley in a newspaper. “Obviously we were referring to our stadium as Death Valley in the early 1960s, which is why (Jones) brought (the rock) to (Howard).” Oops...see above, from a newspaper archive in 1958.
"According to Bud Johnson, the SID from 1966-71, LSU only started calling itself Death Valley after the SEC Tigers swiped it from the ACC Tigers following the two teams’ meeting in the 1958 Sugar Bowl."

Ok...
If ya'll will accept the moniker of "Faux Tigers" and admit ya'll copied LSU...
then, I'll accept and concede that "Death Valley" started in Clemson, SC and not Baton Rouge, LA...
Is that a deal?

Don't know how you can call it copying LSU when the Tigers from us came from a guy we got from the AUBURN Tigers... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clemson_Tigers
"Clemson's athletic teams have been nicknamed the Tigers since 1896, when coach (and later university president) Walter Merritt Riggs brought the name from his alma mater, Auburn University."
I'll concede it definitely came from Auburn with Walter Riggs....you are full of it if you think it was your Tigers it came from though.

We can actually take this a bit further and say it came from Princeton, not either of you SEC teams...
another excerpt: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clemson_Tigers "In 1896, football coach Walter Riggs came to Clemson, then Clemson Agricultural College of South Carolina, from Auburn University. He had always admired the Princeton Tigers, and hence gave Clemson the Tiger mascot. "

Considering the sheer number of colleges/universities that have a tiger as a on mascot, the premise of this thread is moronic. Fitting.

Wrong, Cajuns came from Acadia in Nova Scotia to Louisiana in 1755 - 1800
Louisiana was settled in 1714 Natchitoches - 1722 New Orleans by the French & many Germans who were not kicked out of France or Germany...less than 50% percent of the people with French heritage came from Acadia...Not to mention all the English, Scots, Irish, Spanish and Italians Louisiana has...
Fake news and revisionist history....LOL

Who gives a #### about the state of Louisiana. The whole state smells like swamp ###. The city of New Orleans is the dirtiest city I’ve ever been too.
I had the unfortunate luck of living there briefly when I was younger. If my family wasn’t from there I would never step foot in Louisiana again. It’s a big ole sh it hole with #### poor infrastructure, an awful economy, and very corrupt government on the state and local levels.

I’m really hoping we’re up by 2-3 touchdowns at halftime. That way, I can get back my families place in St Benard parish and get the #### out of the worst state in America. The State of Louisiana should be sold back to the French. Maybe they can come in an clean up what you inbred swamp people can’t.
