I doubt there’s any appreciable NIL, but Rittman has been successful patching the roster with the portal. At one time I think he had a verbal commitment from the top HS pitcher, but it didn’t hold. Rittman’s HS recruiting record has been pretty good in the initial years, then not much until this freshman class. Hopefully, he’s now focused on better HS talent attracted to full scholarships, so the program can maintain a strong foundation.

I do know the Johnson kid from Aynor is very talented kinda reminds me of cagel she can pitch and she can hit. If I remember right she hit a grand slam in the playoffs while pitching a shutout.

The pitcher we “lost out on” got a pretty good NIL deal at Ole Miss. we don’t do much with NIL if anything in softball. SEC schools are using it much more than us. Sound familiar?? Ritmann definitely will use the portal and it’s been pretty good to him.
