Why not let Cooper catch and put Grice at first?
Is Cooper still hurt and therefore can’t catch?

I wondered about that move, as well. Especially when Amick would have come up later on with runners on. I still do not understand the move and have not yet had anyone explain it to me. On the surface it looks like a substitution error by the Coach? Somebody help me understand.

Probably since it was mid inning Erik really thought we had it won and didn’t want to make everyone wait for Ingle to have to go suit up.. but I’d still sent Ammik to right and say Ingle if nothing else

Basically, it was a short sighted, defensive move, not expecting to bat again. It was probably a mistake, but Coach Bakich won't make it again.

Put the guy in to bunt. Maybe Billy can’t bunt
Wanted to get runner on first to second with only one out. Must be a bunting specialist
Didn’t we all have bunting practice as early as little league. Why take an ALL AMERICAN out in favor of someone who has only batted a handful of times all year. As it turned out Amick would have had 2 maybe 3 more bats
But Alas if we had scored we would be saying it was a genius gutsy move. Second guessers are never wrong

spot at first. Wanted more defense I guess but Amick has been solid on defense from what I have seen.
