Who’s following Wimbledon?

Interesting how different the men’s and women’s games are now.
In women’s there’s always too much parity. None of the 8 quarterfinalists made the French open quarters.
In men’s there’s not enough. Feels like a for gone conclusion that Djokovic will win.
I wish there are a happy medium between the two tours right now in terms of results.

I guess players aren’t used to it as Wimbledon was the only slam that didn’t happen last year.
On the mean side I was very happy to see Felix Auger-Aliassime get the big win in 5 sets over Zverev to make his first grand slam quarter.
In the women’s i enjoyed the run of English wildcard Emma Raducanu (didn’t hurt that she was pretty attractive), even though it came to an end today.

away from what it was when I was young. Back then, most of the womens and mens stars were either teens, or barely into their mid-twenties at the latest. No one dreamed of playing and being competitive as long as Venus and Serena Williams, or Federer, Nadal, or Djokovic on the men's side. I remember Chris Evert and Monica Seles winning majors while still in braces, for cripe's sake.
When Pete Sampras retired with 14 majors, a lot of us thought that record would be untouchable. Now, Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic all have WAY more than that, and are still playing.

She was a PED user and had an annoying style of play. Was never a fan of her. Also I think there are several better looking players

it’s be in slow decline.
During that era (late 70s - early 80s) you could not find an empty court to play on. They were always full with people waiting their turn.
Now courts sit empty most of the time.
Sad, but true.

has been fantastic. Watching 3 of the greatest players of all time repeatedly duke it out in grand slams semis and finals for the last decade plus has been amazing. Sadly that era is coming to a close along with the careers of Federer and Nadal, but it's been a great run.
Nobody has really stepped up to consistently challenge those guys and the young players with a lot of promise like Zverev, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, etc have been wildly inconsistent so we very well may be heading for a period of extreme parity whenever Djokovic hangs it up, but i don't think that's something I'm really looking forward to. The years between Sampras and Federer were not that great aside from the Agassi resurgence. Marit Safin, Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick were "the guys" for that period, and none of them were particularly great which was highlighted by the fact that Federer came along and just repeatedly destroyed all of them.

The game used to be huge.
It’s just not all that popular anymore. At least in the USA.
