Sorry if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find a relevant thread using Search.
Do we have a young guy that's supposed to be really good waiting in the wings for his start after Deshawn leaves after this season?
Or are we desperately trying to recruit one or what?
Anyone know what the situation is?

School QB in the country?
As for who will start no one can answer that question. All the QB's will get 16 spring practices and 28 fall practices to win the job.

A lot of my friends watch football, but they don't follow very closely. I mean they watch games every weekend, but many don't know players' name except the stars of the team, QB, RB and maybe some WRs. (I'm talking about my friends/colleagues in general.) Forget about linemen and backups.
My wife is a good example. She only knows because I keep telling her stuff, but she still occasionally asks something like, "Who is #8?" Another example, I have a young female friend who watches football because the starting QB is cute.
Here on TNet, I kinda assume most can at least name all starters and maybe all backups at each position on the depth chart. Then, we know which talented recruits will be coming in at each position. I say most, not all. So, I'm not surprised if someone doesn't know much about players in the depth chart.
To answer OP's question, yes, we do have some talented QB on the roster, not as talented as Watson though. Many had hope that Bryant Kelly (#2) would have been the one, but they feel that Kelly is #3 in the depth chart behind Nick Schuessler confirms their thought that he's not good enough, especially on passing. And so many think it's either Tucker Israel or Zerrick Cooper. But we have two new really really talented QBs coming next year--Hunter Johnson and Chase Brice. Hunter Johnson is rated #1 QB out of 2017 class, while some thinks Chase Brice might be more talented.
I think we could see a repeat of 2014 season--the new incoming freshman wins the starting job in mid season.
