How is Penn State showing signs. I have been bitter since a bobby Ingram went there from Camden. Never happen today.

Obsessed over and bent over for duke or UNC then you wouldnt want to see the ball suckingg that would go on if texas joined the conference. That would really mess with recruiting too and Texas is incredible at recruiting even when they suck. Pi$$ on texas and Notre dame I don't know who I'd want us to pick up but Texas and notre dame are right at the bottom of the want list with the coots. I'd be cool with picking up a team like UCF but we already have 2 florida teams.

Having ND for football and Penn St join would be the best thing for the ACC and Clemson. The conference could split the 8-team divisions North-South. That would let Clemson play almost all away games in the states where it recruits. North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia.

Not only recruit the states we play in every year, but further expand our territory into the NE where we have done decent with the past few years.. Ebo and Battle are both from NY, Facinelli and O'Daniel both from MD.
It would further our SoS and and bolster the overall perception of the league. Franklin @ PSU is going to be a factor and that is indicative of how his first year went w a depleted roster, and how well PSU is recruiting this year.
We would completely have the Eastern Seaboard on lock down and have all big universities from MA to Miami. Splitting the conference into geographic divisions that actually make sense would be a blessing. Would also cut down on each institutions traveling costs.
North: BC, Cuse, Pitt, PSU, ND, VT, UVA, and L'ville
South: Duke, UNC, NCST, Wake, Clem, GT, FSU, and Miami

I don't see why Penn St would want to join the ACC. Someone mentioned Texas. Texas will never leave the Big 12. They own that conference win or lose. And they are always a contender even to the point that Charlie Strong had to come out and say "we will NOT be competing for the conference or NC title this year!"
UCF would be a great addition. However, them boys in Greenville, North Carolina would be a better fit. I wouldn't mind having the smart school out of West Virginia (Marshall that is). Those schools all fit the ACC mode of "intelligent student-athlete schools."

would be good additions, but bring nothing outside of that. Also, they bring no value as far as a national following, new market, or academic standards.
I agree PSU is a long shot and that the likely addition if ND joins is Navy. If Swoffy has his way we probably bring UCONN whos only football history is beating USuCk in the Pizza Bowl.

This is high comedy. First, why would penn state want to come to the ACC? Give me one good reason.
Websites are making fun of ACC for sending Pitt to try and recruit Penn State.
There is absolutely no logical reason for ND or PSU to outright join ACC.
If Notre dame was forced to join a conference it would go to big ten as well. The two of them are like scorned lovers who secretly want each other back.

Penn St would like to come to the ACC to expand their footprint into the southeast where most of the U.S. population is moving too, is that a good enough reason for you?

No, that's the dumbest reason I've heard yet. Money, academics, and now, with the addition of Maryland and Rutgers, rivalries are all in big 10.
Those are real things that a school would think about. Not going where the population is going.

This is not accurate. ND and the Big 10 have zero in common other than geography. ND is never going to join the Big 10. Although it is highly unlikely that ND will join a conference soon, should it happen, it would be the ACC.

lol, other than geography, as if that's ni big thing.
What do they have in common with the ACC?
Two facts for you
1. Notre Dame's faculty has voted to join the big 10 in the past, but it was leaked to alumni who did not want them to join a conference. 2. ND's TV ratings when playing a big ten team far exceed when they play anyone else.

I am an ND alum. I guarantee you that I am more attuned to this issue than you are. The ND faculty did not join to vote the Big 10. The ND faculty senate, a small group of the faculty, voted to do so in 1999. The alums, as you point out, promptly rebelled against the idea. There is essentially no support, among ND alums, for the notion that ND should join the Big 10. In fact, I believe that there would be a tremendous backlash, among alums, should that happen. ND's ratings are not, as you suggest, better when playing a Big 10 team than anyone else. ND/USC is usually the game which garners the best TV ratings. And in the recent past, when wer have played Oklahoma, those games had better ratings than say, Purdue.

Here are 2013 ND TV ratings. Let me know if you notice a trend.
Viewers vs (Station) 2.50M Temple NBC 8.65M Michigan ESPN 4.79M Purdue ABC 4.79M Michigan State NBC 3.89M Oklahoma NBC 3.68M Arizona State NBC 3.46M USC NBC 2.56M Navy NBC 3.03M Pittsburgh ABC 2.29M BYU NBC 3.33M Stanford FOX
So you are wrong about Oklahoma.

LOL. You got me. But the fact remains--ND is not about to join the Big 10. ND has a long term contract with NBC. The idea that TV ratings factors into the issue is just wrong.

I'm not saying alums want to join big 10, they don't want to join any conference, which is why ACC deal was good.
All I'm saying is if forced to bite the bullet, I don't think it would be ACC that was joined.
