It has never been written that humphries was the fastest player. Charon Peake in camp.

a track, football speed-wise it's watkins. i have heard (on an radio interview with 1 of the coaches,i think it was)that humphries has the best short area quickness, which is maybe what you had heard,too.

carry speed changing directions, and from start to 10 yards downfield. Probably have different people better in different areas. Sammy might not be the fastest in a straight line, but sure seems to be able to change directions without losing much speed.

AE can squeeze more yard out of a play than anyone we've had in years. He gets almost as much as some of the huge bruisers of our glory days and covers the truth about his foot speed with illusion created by taunting would be tacklers with jukes and dives.
He is second to only Tajh when it comes to being most indispensable.
