Who else has noticed players not wearing Team Shoes?

I'm not talking just about Clemson but pretty much across the board in all bigger schools. I have been noticing this trend but has really stood out watching the SEC-ACC Challenge. All these players getting paid and now they are buying their own $500-$2000 sneakers instead of using the team sneakers. All you have to do is look at the training staff shoes and you can see the team shoes as they all match.

This makes me wonder what the apparel sponsors think when players are wearing their Under Armour jersey but wearing their $2000 custon Air Jordan's?? I woukd think Apparel companies would have some say as the only reason they pay schools is for advertising. I can see this causing some legal issues in the future.

Well the schools are not going to be buying off-brand shoes and I doubt every player has a shoe sponsor. Of course some guys probably have some NIL deal for shoes but not all. So that would leave the other obvious answer of players buying shoes. Pretty sure they aren't pulling a Jameis Winston and crab legs.

No one is paying for those shoes. Some kids are getting paid to wear them.
