He won't be, at least not this year. They need to let him redshirt and then compete for the job the year after. Unless they move Nunez to WR or DB. To me, Orth is the guy this year which doesn't do much for them. Their real problems are up front because they won't have anybody who can slow down Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, or Clemson's defensive front.

They are going to throw the kid into the fire.
Too much pressure on taht coaching staff to play him. The Chicken media has pumped him as the savior.

Will make a great baseball player but an above average QB. Wont be the savior they think he is.
They are expecting a Watson but will probably get a Parker.

He's better than anyone they currently have but Clemson will have four QB's on its roster all of whom are rated significantly higher than the kid $CU fans are already touting as their savior and the next Tom Brady.

Well I looked on rivals and Kelly Bryant and Zerrick Cooper were both ranked above Mcilwain.
But then I looked on 247 and McIlwain was rated higher than Bryant and Cooper.
Now I'm all confused as this board has established recruiting rankings are infallible.

He's on the same level as those guys as far as recruiting rankings go.
Difference is at Clemson there will be 3-4 guys on that level competing for the QB job where as Mcilwain's only competition is a cashier at Food Lion.

Connor Mitch was going to be their Savior, Nunez was a prodigy, and the list goes on and on. After seeing his film, I'm not very impressed. I do think he will contribute later on but will definitely not be the Deshaun 2.0 that they so desperately desire and sacrifice their first born for.

His lack of a supporting cast will likely be his downfall.

Winston was always Football first.

BM is a first rounder in BB and TOOO short to be considered an NFL capable QB. Sure there are a lot of great college players that never play pro football. Just a few that are first round material in any sport.
Almost forgot, Winston redshirted in FB,giving him the time needed to get ready.

This kid isn't nearly as big or athletic as Winston....

McIlwain is only 6'1" and 204 lbs (which is probably a bit of a stretch) while Winston is 6"4" and 230.
McIlwain may be the better of the two in baseball but Winston is definitely the better football player.

I know I wouldn't want my QB focusing primarily on baseball and missing-out on all of the spring workouts.

I disagree....
IMO at this level they do suffer. As great as Kyle Parker was at Baseball IMO he could have been even better if he just played that.
Just because they still have success doesn't mean they couldn't have had greater success.

For some reason that we will never figure out, the coots are stuck in the 7th-8th year of the Spurrier era. Nobody at theyallsuck remembers Spurrier's 9th or 10th year of their ca-laps @ they suck. They refuse to except the concept that their program has since then deteriorated into the shambles they were in pre Spurrier, when Spurrier was kicking their A$S to sleep, and he was the most hated man in Columaloosa....

I'll bite. Kid has a good arm and decision making skills. Like someone said before me, he doesn't have the supporting cast he need's to be successful. I may be mistaken, but wasn't Nunez coined as "The Savior" of USCjr football? How did that turn out?

If he gave him 1st round baseball money to play QB for a terrible college team he doesn't have good decision making.

I'll beg to differ your suggestion that he has good decision making skills. If he is going to be a member of theyallsuck FB program, how could it be possible to have good decision making skills, and knowingly join a program that has completely imploded. To me, those decision making skills are nothing but disastrous. I can't see anything good coming from that sort of thinking, and it certainly don't represent GOOD!!!

Right now, while he should be studying the playbook and working on timing with WR's,he's all about baseball.
NOTHING WILL BE DONE WHILE HE'S AT USuC TO ENDANGER HIS FIRST ROUND STATUS.That was set straight with the Chump when he chose to forego the MLB Draft.
On a more important side note, their QB Savior is rated the same as Zerrick Cooper. He'll be 4th string, maybe a redshirt this year at Clemson.

He passed-up first round MLB money to play college football for a perennial doormat.
Parental guidance of this nature is akin to child abuse.

It's surly child endangerment, endangering him from ever having a successful baseball career bc of all the concussions he'll receive from playing FB for theyallsuck!!!
