Can 3 SEC Teams Make The CFP?

The way Bama, UGA and Texas A&M are recruiting right now. I could definitely see 2 and maybe 3 making it in the near future. This all SEC final will only speedup the CFP expansion. Three Power 5 conferences didn't make the CFP this year. Keeping it at 4 will only keep the power at the very top 3 - 4 schools. We need 8, 12 or 16 team CFP sooner than later.

After Oklahoma and Texas join the SEC, then sure ... I could envision 3 SEC teams making CFP.
Wonder if anti-trust laws could apply to college football conferences?

There will be an all SEC playoff eventually once that happens.

Which team that didn't make the playoff would have won

one of the games today?
The top seeds get the lowest seeds first. I think there are teams outside the top four that could have beaten Cincinatti or Michigan today but not Alabama or Georgia.

Maybe so, but I hope not! Why should a team that doesn't

even win its division, get in the playoff. Even if it goes to 12 teams, two teams from one conference is plenty. If your main goal is getting the best team as national champion, go to eight teams and make it double elimination! Then the best team would win most every year!

It would likely be a scenario where Alabama was not SEC champ and the SEC championship game was won by less than a field goal. Alabama would have to be one loss and losing to aTm or something and aTm going to the championship and winning against say an undefeated Georgia. Alabama and GA would get in with one loss and aTm would be undefeated SEC champs. Not far fetched.

I think the alliance will block this kind of thing from happening if an expansion occurs.

I just don't see it under the present setup. Don't believe

the other P5's would put up with a three-SEC-team scenario, even if they are considered the best.
There were reports a few years ago that the Big 10 and 12 Commissioners were dropping not so subtle hints that if the four-team playoff was going to turn into a SEC lovefest, then they both would likely drop out permanently. Frankly, I thought from the beginning that it should have been an eight-team series, so that two potent teams from one conference could be included without much controversy.
In fact I think all this talk about expansion is a direct product of the SEC's inclusion every year, which although merited was bound to create problems among the also-rans.
So, how does an eight-team playoff work? Perhaps (and this is just off-the-cuff...or rocker speculation) one from each of the power 5's and the G5's plus two at large. Further, if conference championships are reasons for inclusion, then I certainly do not believe any team not playing for a conference title should be included. (Notre Dame comes to mind,)
Lastly, I wouldn't be surprised over the next few years to see some major realignment among the conferences, even the creation of four regional super ones with 18-20 members each. The playoff itself may be the driving factor.

Every year just have a 3 or 4 SEC team playoff.....and then have the winner play Clemson for the NC.

It's possible but I think these 3 teams could have no more than 2 losses at best. And that one would probablt have to win the SECCG!
