The Play That Cost Cook a Shot at the Heisman IMO

Guys that go for the Heisman are the guys that make big plays in the 4th Qtr when the game is on the line.

FSU had a 4th and 1 with about 6:32 seconds left when the score was 16-13 and all he had to do was get one yard and was STUFFED!...NOT A HEISMAN PLAY.

DW4 on the other hand has stepped up every time he needed to in 4th Qtr played and done what was need to secure the win.

Cook got a couple of early chunk plays but was then shut down for the rest of the game.

I wouldn't hold that against him. He had already

Nov 19, 2015, 6:25 AM

gotten a yard 196 other times with no problem. Shaq and Ben just made aplay when we needed it most.

And he did not make a play when is team needed it the most..***

He is a great RB...But Heisman RB's Make the play

Nov 19, 2015, 9:09 AM

I think you are missing my point. Cook is a pro-caliber running back that is as good as any in the nation. But when you are speaking of the Heisman, one or 2 plays can literally make the difference.

Watson in the 4th Qtr made huge drive sustaining plays...Cook did not.

Had he signed with Clemson....

I can't help but wonder if your assessment of his performance would be as deleterious.

Even Dabo said Cook is the best running back in the Country.

When was the last time the "Best running

back in the country" won the Heisman?

Been a while.

I have maintained for years....

that the Heisman is no longer awarded to the best player. It has morphed into an award for a really good player on a great team.

Now that we have the playoffs, let's see how long it takes

Nov 19, 2015, 9:15 AM

for a guy not in the playoffs to win it. You'd think now that we've had 15 or so years with every game being on tv, there would be more Heisman candidates, not fewer.

It was never an award for the best player. It was an award for "the most outstanding player in college football"

If he had signed with CLEMSON, he probably would have sat most of the season after hitting that woman. We are different than FSwho and Dumbo.
