When was the last time a major CFB coach passed during the

season (I know regular season is over, but they're in a bowl, so still practicing)? I'm in my early 50s and can't recall a time. The only one that comes to mind is the Long Beach State (George Allen?) coach back in the late 80s/early 90s, but I don't know that it was during the season.

Skip Prosser (former Wake basketball coach) died after the season was over as well.

Gamecock HC, Joe Morrison died on February 6, 1989 after playi g racquetball. His passing obviously did not occur during the season.

That's the cover story. Many believe he died at his mistress's apartment and was rushed to the gym to create that story and avoid embarrassment for all.

I'm not sure. You may have to go all the way back to the 1970 Marshall plane crash. Obviously, a very different situation though.
