He is not tough enough for the NFL. If we are honest, he was not even tough enough for college football. Dude was hurt every year. Drafting that guy was a huge gamble that I feel sure will be looked at as a mistake. He is a great runner and kills combine like drills, but start hitting him and he crumbles. You can credit ESPN and their SEC hype machine for getting him picked.

Just because he is a coot running back that isn't a coke addict or hasn't been arrested 5 times, doesn't mean I should start worshipping him.
Seriously though, no ill will towards the kid, but I'm not pulling for him like a lot of turncoat Clemson fans just because he isn't a bum like most coot players. If he does good I will give him his props, but past that if he isn't on my pro team I have no vested interest in pulling for him over any other player that didn't go to Clemson. And you wonder why we have lost 4 to the coots. We have supposed Clemson fans cheering on Shamecock players and loving Ray Tanner (even though we know Tanner isn't the squeaky clean guy the way the South Carolina media portrays him).

You mean like my Clemson friends when they refer (rightfully) to Spiller?
We are very proud of Marcus. he's been through heck as far as college football players go and he's never been anything but 100% positive on and off the field. He has been a wonderful role model, and even when recovering from surgery took time to visit churches to talk about his faith.
I have Clemson friends who purchased Marcus jerseys for their kids after attending me of his church visits.
Of course we think the work of Marcus. He will do great regardless if he ever plays a down in the NFL. But knowing Marcus a little - if it can be done- he will do it.

Clemson fans love all of our student athletes no matter who they are. You coots on the other hand mostly don't care. You don't care that your school doesn't make your student athletes to class. he still averaged around 10-15 carries a game and about 80 yards. Go look at the FSU-Clemson highlights from that year. he ripped off multiple 10 yard runs

Marcus is a punishing runner and is extremely tough. His toughness is not in question by anyone that matters.
The question is can he return to a form that allows him to use his talent and ability - and can he avoid the big type injury.

Marcus is a physically punishing runner. He's going to have some injuries- but his injuries have rarely kept him from playing.
Two blown out knees kept him from playing- but I don't think that qualifies someone as "injury prone."
He's been extremely unlucky.
Injury prone is a "tag" fans put on players that typically miss a lot of games for what seems like the most simple and basic of injuries.

I'd say that Marcus being able to go through the rehab, not once, but twice, and make the combines speaks tons about his toughness. He played for the wrong team, but he has been a class act, on and off the field. His injuries were freakish and had nothing to do with toughness. He can play on my team any time.

This was one tough kid. Personally, I'm hoping he'll become a decent back in the NFL.
With the exception of a few a$$hat clowns, I tend to leave a player's choice of college behind the same time they do. Lattimore didn't ask the governor to set aside a day for him. He just played hard and was injured in the misguided service of a program that would have thrown him away, had he been of lesser talent.

solid running backs in Frank Gore and Lamichael James. Lattimore lacks speed (even before the two knee injuries) to be an every down back in the NFL. He can be a rotational power runner ala Brandon Jacobs. But his inability to get a lot 30 plus yard plays in college (where even slower guys like Ron Dayne, Stepfan Taylor, and Lendale White can get big plays), shows that he doesn't have the speed to be an every down back in the NFL.
Pure power runners don't last long in the NFL. Just look at Marion Barber when he was with the Dallas Cowboys. A pure power runner who had a few good years, then faded away fast from too many injuries.

This is a ridiculous status. You have obviously never suffered torn ACLs. One knee he tore his ACL and the other he severely dislocated his knee while tearing 3 other ligaments. Disappointed to see such a garbage status.

Blowing out your ACL has nothing to do with toughness. Jim Freaking Brown coulda blown out a knee playing badminton with his nieces in the backyard. All you have to do is land wrong or plant your foot at an awkward angle. It's mostly just bad luck and could happen to anybody at any time. The toughest RB I've ever seen at Clemson (Terry Allen) blew out both his ACLs.
