last Sunday to call our former FG kicker and their buddy since he’s still enrolled online, eligible and even though living in Charleston.
A great idea until he missed a possible game winner.

What’s the problem with that. Dude just happened to be here when Potter was here and seen no action. Dabo thought he had moved on but he caught wind that he was still enrolled taking something online. With what I have seen from Gunn it was one hell of a call.

Dabo wouldn’t have put Gunn out there in the first place. He would’ve left the offense out there to go for it. He wanted a Disney Movie.

You'd have gone for it on 4th rather than try a 29 yard FG to go up 3 with 1:45 to play when your defense had been playing very well?
And you REALLY think Dabo was thinking about something other than winning the game?

middle of the field for the FG attempt. We are much aggressive on 3rd down and get it closer on 4th if we didn't go grab Weiss off the beach.

I also believe that setting yourself up for a 29 yd potential game winning FG is the right decision in nearly EVERY circumstance.
The exception would be that Gunn had been out there and had gone 0/3 on the day. Or if the Weitz had had a rough enough day that it simply made zero sense to even attempt a FG. None of that was the case though.

I thinks it’s dumb that now he has 2 kickers with confidence issues because our special teams game is a #### show. Nobody to blame for that tho. If only there were experienced people in positions to develop and recruit skilled players…..
Maybe there is another potential kicker on a beach somewhere…..
