What’s going on in Philly

Nov 5, 2020, 8:54 PM

Gonna get you up to speed on actual PA law. PA law says the following about poll watchers. Pay close attention to (c):

https://codes.findlaw.com/pa/title-25-ps-elections-electoral-districts/pa-st-sect-25-2650.html

You can’t do any of that from 50 ft away behind a fence or watching on a video stream.

In addition, look at the Sec of State guidance for poll watchers from 2008

https://www.dos.pa.gov/VotingElections/Documents/Elections%20Division/Administration/Rights%20of%20Watchers%20Candidates%20Attorneys.pdf

This guidance that coincidentally came out in October, limits the abilities of the poll watchers more including....you guessed it...the right to challenge mail-in ballots.

https://www.dos.pa.gov/VotingElections/OtherServicesEvents/Documents/Poll%20Watcher%20Guidance%20Final%2010-6-2020.pdf

Poll watchers in Philadelphia were being denied the right to closely inspect the process so they got this court order today. The Dems refused to comply and appealed. Why would any legit board of elections appeal a court decision to enforce state law????

So this is the kind of stuff that makes people not trust results. Be transparent!

This all looks super authentic and checks out.

I am sad that your eyeballs make money for someone who cares nothing about you. God bless you and your family. Please try and keep it together over the next few years.

T3,

This is straight from the experts at 538

One thing Trump repeatedly claimed in his speech tonight was that his campaign representatives were not being given access to observe the vote-counting process and that they’ve had to sue in order to “have people watch.”

First of all, the vote-counting process is always bipartisan and campaign observers are allowed to witness it.

Second of all, his lawsuits (in Pennsylvania and Michigan) weren’t about being allowed to observe — because, again, they are and have been allowed — they’re about how close those observers able to stand.

The lawsuit in Michigan was thrown out, and the Pennsylvania one was dismissed today after both sides agreed to the number of observers each campaign can have in the room.

Tobias you’re really still citing 538??? Really????

Also the PA lawsuit is what I’m referring to and it seems the Trump people got what they were seeking. They were allowed before but far away and behind a fence.

PA legislature is run by Republicans

Nov 5, 2020, 9:07 PM

Do they not like the rules and process they established?

They have to be a credentialed elector in the county (which doesn't follow Trumps rule breaking 'army'). Only 1 poll watcher for each party can be there at a time. Must remain a safe and respectable distance back (was supposed to be 6 feet as previously established and published).

For someone that respects the rule of law, Trumpers sure like trying to bend the law and interpret it in new ways to benefit you.

Why don't Trumpers want all votes counted?

"Trying to bend the law and interpret it in new ways to benefit you" is the Federalist Society's mission statement.

I think they want all legal votes counted but not the illegal votes. Just a thought.

What do the Republicans in the legislature have to do with anything? I just said the law allowed for poll watchers. The court order said 6 ft which still isn’t reasonable but because of the COVID bs.

This is where poll watchers were “allowed” to be before the order

I don't have a balled up piece of paper BUT

Nov 5, 2020, 9:16 PM

it seems the Trump team is really stretching "permitted to observe all aspects." Just so we're clear, it's not that they're not allowed to observe, they're getting hung up on how convenient it is to observe. I don't want to make predictions considering how wildly different judges can interpret this, but I wouldn't personally want to have all my eggs in that basket.

Hannity just showed a video of a poll watcher in Philly being remove by force and all the people were cheering. Then they placed cardboard up in the windows on counting stations. That does not sound good.

I saw video of watcher kicked out

Nov 5, 2020, 9:21 PM

Because he was not following the law by being the wrong ward.

So you are saying Hannity is not tell the truth and there was not a law suite filed to keep poll watcher away?
