What's dabo's record vs Danny's at this point?

I'm guessing Dabo is ahead of Danny at this point with more wins, playing better opponents plus Dabo was named head coach with way less talented players than Danny had when he was named HC. Dabo started building from much less talent.

Danny was like 58 - 21 after 7 full seasons. Dabo has won over 70 games in his 7 seasons.

Hard to compare number of wins when we play at least one more game every year during the regular season. Also, there are a bizillion bowl games now. A more accurate comparison would be win percentage. # of national championships isnt a bad one either.

This is Dabo's 8th full season, plus the half season in 2008. Dabo is 77-27 (.740) overall since taking over.
Danny coached the Gator Bowl in 1978 and won. That win plus his next 7 full seasons = 58-21-2 (.716). Ford went 8-2-2 the next season to put him at 66-23-4, then 10-2 following that, so 76-25-4. Thus, they are actually extremely close through about the same amount of games.

Danny was 57 - 21 after 7 full seasons. Dabo is 71 - 24 after his seven full seasons. Dabo has 14 more wins but has the benefit of 12 games per year vs. 11 - and 15 games played in 2015.
Winning percentage is pretty close but Dabo, after 7 full seasons is ahead of Danny.

We now play a "gimme" game each year that we did not back

then. At least we hope it is a "gimme" game. So Dabo's win totals is one more per year due to that.
http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/active/c/clemson/coaching_records.php
Danny lost 29 games while coaching at Clemson. Dabo has lost 27. Danny had 4 ties, which could have gone either way under the new rules.

Think he may mean an "additional" gimme game. We play 2 of those every year now.

Gimme or not, I think the 12th game would have added some

W's to Danny's total for sure. Reason being, if you have a good team that is clicking, much easier to win another game with that same personnel than to start over every year with new team "chemistry". Just look at us at start of this year compared to end of last year to see what I mean.

Don't let facts get in the way of your argument. Danny had at least 1 gimme game a year: 1979 - Furman 1980 - Rice, Western Carolina 1981 - Wofford, Tulane 1982 - Western Carolina, Kentucky 1983 - Western Carolina 1984 - App St. 1985 - @ Kentucky was supposed to be a gimme but we lost. 1986 - Citadel 1987 - Western Carolina 1988 - Furman 1989 - Furman

Danny coached 105 games through the end of 1987

This week's game with SC State will be Dabo's 105th game as head coach.
Danny's record through 105 was 76-25-4 Dabo's record through 104 is 77-27
Pretty darn close to the same record.

final win / loss total. That tells you how consistently good recordwise Danny was the last few years of his time here. I still think it's an apples and oranges comparison, they both were / are great.
