What was your day like when we won the first Natty against Alabama?

I had the day off, and was dog sitting for my mom, who was at the game.
Ihad the day off from work. I took the back roads one town over to one of my favorite restaurants, listened to all the pregame chatter, drank a couple canned Mtn Dews, ate some little debbies for dessert on the way home, the got back to the house about 15 mins before the game started. I remember time went by SO slow! So, I did my best to kill as much as I could.
I remember the year prior I thought we could beat Alabama, but I wasn’t sure we knew how to win a game of that magnitude against a program like Alabama…yet
But that year, I had a confidence we would win, because we now had the experience and motivation to get us over the top. That, and I Didn’t think Jake Hurts had what it took to beat a Deshaun Watson led offense.
Curious how you spent that day, or any other National Title Gameday.
Go Tigers! ?????

Spent The First In Miami

Drove downed back in 1981-1982. No money, but did it "cause". The most wonderful feeling ever, until there was 2016. Then there was 2018! Maybe another, who knows. Moral is, NEVER miss the chance to go. You will never regret it!

I watched the ‘81 game from my living room in Oklahoma (making a bundle from bets with Nebraska fans). I made a vow that if Clemson ever made it back to the Natty game, I would be there. I’ve been to every one since. Disappointed twice, elated twice! Have enough saved up for the next one!

Got Back to Tampa at 6:30 AM from

a cruise to Cozumel. I was wearing my Clemson sweatshirt while sitting in the Atrium waiting to get off the boat. Almost every person that walked by that morning said either "Go Tigers" or "Beat Bama!" It was an unusually cold day for Tampa, so I decided that was a good sign since every one in the media was thinking it would be a cold day in hxxx before Clemson could beat Alabama!
The game in San Francisco, my husband and I flew out of Raleigh at 6:30 AM the morning of the game, rented a car, drove to the game, had a great, GREAT time, watched the trophy presentation, drove back to the airport, got on a 1 AM flight, and got back to Raleigh at 10:30 AM the Tuesday morning after the game! It was so worth traveling 28 hours without sleep!
