on this play? I confess I have not blitzed in D1 football, but I would think you would be coached to look for the ball and not the body.
I know with 1 on 1 open field good coaching in most sports tells you to look at the hips not the ball.
But in this case with QB & RB I would think he’s coached to look at the ball.

Corbin’s 24 yard run, Brent made great call to blitz, Brent put Tyler in great position, but Tyler whiffed big time.

I've always thought that the defender should wait for the ball carrier to point (with his finger) in a given direction, and then to run to where he pointed.
That would work for sure ... I think.

The QB was his responsibility on that Blitz, the other LB was supposed to cover the RB but missed. Tyler played the blitz perfectly.

I think he plays pretty well to my untrained eye. The FSU WR did get behind him once and we were lucky the ball was overthrown.

yes you did hear that but if you see him in coverage you hope that isnt true or we are lacking team speed

Tyler did his job. If the qb kept it, play over. After handoff, lb should have picked up. But of course, he’s the coach’s kid so many think he shouldn’t even be on team. I happen to disagree and think he’s a tough #### kid with high football IQ. Like the way he plays; one speed….on. Doesn’t take plays off.

When you are blitzing, your job is to get the guy with the ball. He could have easily taken both of them out, but instead, he missed them both. He has played well, but that was embarrassing.
