What the heck is wrong with us?

Before we begin, I don’t think Clemson Football is going to have a terrible year.

But I am extremely worried that we will probably never win another National Championship under Dabo - which feels insane to say.

What’s wrong?

1. Culture: what is our culture right now? It’s not “the fun is in the winning” or “byog”. We have a culture of fear. Something has changed in Dabo. He’s like an old king hanging onto the end of an empire. He needs to take a few deep breaths and start smiling and just start having irrational belief like he did in 2010.

2. Offense: it feels like there are still massive kinks in the armor. UGA made great second half adjustments and we did not. We played with a spirit of fear. Should have given Mafah the ball more. I won’t put all of this on the offense as I was shocked we chose to receive the kick which didn’t set the defense up for the greatest level of success.

3. Defense: we need some young guys to step up. We looked gassed midway through the 3rd. Will also need to change schemes.

Things we can fix:

1. Talent: we need to go buy a few guys during the offseason where we are lacking. Not many, but a few. Tbh I think we’ve tried and have gotten underbid. Need to be more serious. Same with recruiting. If it’s money we should be able to solve for that. If it’s coaches, see the money problem. Hire. Better. Ones.

2. Coaching: I love Coach Grisham. He’s a believer. He was a good player at Clemson. But his group is massively underperforming and was our Achilles heel against UGA. I hope he can make adjustments and right the ship.

3. Winning: I 100% believe we can win out the rest of the year. CK2 has a big chip on his shoulder. He’s going to have to continue to lead in the fire. Mafah is going to have to carry some big weight and Jay Haynes needs to step up. Defensively, we need to get more experience in our secondary. I think GT could carve us up unless we are careful.

As fans: we gotta show up to games and get loud. We need to support our program. We can do this.

I think Georgia is going to look dominant and might show some signs of weakness against some teams, and I do think we banged them up pretty good.
