The word now is if SMU loses Bama jumps them. SMU wins and Bama is out from what I read. That's why there is talk about SMU not playing Saturday.

Correct. SMU winning would not create any scenario for Bama to suddenly drop in the rankings. Not sure what this guy is talking about.

Do you really think the committee would reward them with a spot if they ducked out, knowing what kind of precedent that would set?

The only real upset needed is for Clemson to win. If everything else goes chalk 1 playoff spot is “stolen” by Clemson.
The last spot would come down to SMU, Miami, Bama, Old Miss, or Scar. I like SMU to get the nod but you never know; especially when it comes to Bama.

SMU would have to lose but only by a field goal or less, then case would be made for 2 loss team over 3 loss team

1. SMU beats Clemson.
2. Clemson beats SMU and committee keeps SMU ranked ahead of Bama.
There is a third scenario, but highly unlikely. Milroe breaks his leg in practice this week. (Just a joke, folks.)
