What is Brownell doing recruiting a player who

Is looking for his 3rd school? He wasn’t happy at Texas or Alabama, why does he think he’ll be happy here? Why would he bring a malcontent into his program. Brownell runs this program like a rec league team.

issue - Smart decided they should part ways.
If CBB thinks Mack fits into the culture, seems an important consideration to CBB, then that's on CBB - it's his rodeo.

The article doesn't spell it out exactly but it seems the only thing he is unhappy with at Bama is the coaching change.
I would imagine that there would be a couple of players decide to transfer if Brownell left or was fired as well.
I'm not sure that would make them malcontents.

Maybe he believes that misery loves company.
If you listen to our fans, these Tigers are so hopeless they shouldn't even bother fielding a team. If Clemson didn't offer a quality education, the players could invest their time better by playing video games. At least then they could be better than mediocre!

The only thing I can tell is it's only because it would be his third school, with no regard to reasons for the prior transfer or this current one.

We have only one true post player who is taller than 6-8 with the Bearhe (spelling) injury

We recruited him hard, so Brownell and our coaches already have a good relationship with him. He is a 6’6” swing player who can certainly help our team, and could even play the 4 if we are going with a smaller lineup.
Yes, we need more help down low, but I’m guessing that Brad wouldn’t turn down a player with Mack’s skills if we are unable to get a highly talented big guy who can play immediately.
I don’t view Mack as a malcontent. In case you haven’t noticed, Shaka Smart isn’t exactly running a model program at Texas and all indications are that he is in over his head. Mack is transferring from Alabama because his coach was just fired, and he doesn’t want to play for the new coach. That happens a lot when coaching changes occur. In fact, there are several Alabama players who have announced that they are transferring.
