Thinks no school should pursue him as their coach. He has never once finished taking a program further.
He makes everything all about and always quits coaching when he feels like it.
Sure he is a great offensive mind. But, you way more unpredictable than the weather.
No loyalty, no respect, and a huge ego that thinks he is the best coach ever. Yet, he hasn’t sniffed the playoffs.

He'd be a great assistant and recruiter but he's in the shadow of some big names and programs. I never reallly considered him as a head coach. It just still feels like an experiment.

He takes a program to a level and then leaves before the AD and fans realize that he has a lower ceiling and fire him. Just like TB at Clemson...he will only take you so far up the mountain but never to the top.

I'm with you. If you can't take a name brand blue blood like USC to the top with the talent they can draw why would anyone anywhere think you could do it for them? That's my question. I mean I could see it if he went somewhere else and got some seasoning and improved a team. He's never done that.

He didn't at usc. That's really the only team he's failed at. In his defense, they were mired in controversy with the Bush stuff. He also followed Carrol.
He did Tennessee wrong accepting and then leaving for usc... but he'd worked a lot with usc. So I can't blame him for his dream job.
He also told the truth about urban Myers and got reprimanded for doing so.
I can't count fla Atlantic. He wasn't taking them to the playoffs. So other than usc following a legend and mired in controversy with the Bush mess, he's been At ole miss. Tough gig, hard to recruit but he hasn't done bad.
If we were in the sec, we'd most likely be recruiting like ole miss.

I believe Lane has come a long ways from the debacle at Tenn. In listening to interviews he does not seem to be that guy anymore. Humility, maturity, who knows, but I feel he does a great job at Ole Miss. Above expectations imo at a school like Ole Miss.

He took the job in Knoxville the next day. If that's as close to LK as we ever get I'm happy.
I'm not concerned with Lane or any other schools. IMO, all other schools deserve someone like him.
