Barry Bonds

Gonna get enough votes this his last and final year of eligibility. Same with Roger Clemens. Announcing it tonight at 6. What you think. I know baseball purist will say no but I think he should but he probably want. Steroids can enhance what barry bonds did but not too many people can take what ever he did and do what he did for so many years on the field. Just put an astrick beside his name.

I really don't care who gets in, or who doesn't bc down deep I truly don't care. Now I do believe that when X players of any sports are voted for things that recognize as a legend in their sport, it should really matter that what ever they done in their sport, was done with only their God given ability without ever using drugs that help to give them maximum strength like a steroid enhancing drug. I mean tell me how good you were before you started taking drugs that made you bigger and stronger!!!

Schilling is the one that I don't get. He has to be one of the great playoff pitchers of all time. Gritty guy you want on the mound for game 7 of World Series. He is being left out because of his political views. He didn't cheat or do anything against the rules of baseball that I am aware of.

Schilling actually asked to be removed from the ballot after he didn't get in last year. The committee decided to leave him on the ballot anyway (it's his last year). He's not polling well...he won't make it in.

I would vote to induct Pete Rose ahead of Bonds and Clemens
Jan 25, 2022, 11:54 AM

Pete may be an arrogant a$$ and an unrepentant liar, but he was no cheater. What he did may have been wrong but that doesn't take away from the fact that he was a great player.

Great players shouldn't ever need drugs that has been proven to enhance your natural ability. Once a great player takes/uses those types of drugs, they should never be compared with the players that competed with their natural ability, and if any body refuses to see the difference, it says that they approve of cheating!!!!

A-Rod is in the HOF and he is an admitted PED user.

So did the voters just make an exception in his case?

Had I a vote, NOBODY who had steroids even loosely

associated with them would ever be allowed into the Hall of Fame. I don't care what they accomplished "pre-steroids", the instant they chose to cheat the game by using, they disqualified themselves far as I'm concerned. Others surely have differing opinions, but it doesn't change mine.

Neither is projected to get enough votes. It's going to be close, though.

I don't believe that any of the steroid users should get in.
Now Pete Rose should be. Just put on his plaque after all of his accomplishments that he was banned from baseball for gambling. That should be punishment enough. #4256 Hits

The thing that irks me is that Bonds had HOF numbers pre-steroids but his ego couldn't let him watch MaGuire and Sosa take the spotlight. MLB should have stepped up when it had the chance and said any stats for seasons where you were proven to use steroids are null and void. This would have negated some contract clauses and trimmed some illegal numbers out of HOF campaigns without hurting innocent teammates. Looking at Bonds numbers when he was 39 vs. other HOFer's it's obvious he benefited late in his career. I recall him rarely missing a game until they began testing for "clear" and then the nagging injuries set in. He limped ahead of Aaron at 40 and 41. He would have never passed him if he'd been clean.
