What do you all think this baseball team

Can do realistically? It looks like they are getting hot at the perfect moment, but how deep do you think they can go? I say they definitely can win a regional, especially if we somehow are able to host. Winning a super is a toss up. It really depends on the draw we get.

you do realize we are 12 in rpi. it is far from settled. we can go from not making the tourney to a top 8 seed. we just need to keep winning.

Yeah, I was about to say we almost needed to be perfect the rest of the way. Team can probably win a regional, but doesn't have the pitching for a crazy run.

I would agree with their ceiling being a super regional. Unless you catch a break and the super regional opponent is coming off an upset win.
I don't think we have to win out to host. But I do believe we'd have to win our pod. If 4 acc teams host, which is not a stretch, we can be one of them.

I don’t agree. 7-4 the rest of the way and winning the ACC tourney would probably make us a national seed. We’re still project as having the hardest SOS in the country which means our SOS actually trends up over these last 11 games. Warren Nolan projects is to finish 22nd in RPI, but that is with us going 5-6. Anything better than that is going to leave us in the running for 4-5 host seeds the ACC will likely receive. 5-4 the rest of the way in the ACC and a couple tourney wins would probably cinch a spot as a host.

Respectfully disagree.
2/3 vs Louisville Beat coastal Sweep v tech on road Beat upstate 2/3 vs unc
37-19 and hosting. Just don’t go 2 and que in the ACC tourney

I could respond with an entire article. To keep it short, 1. It’s all about the matchup 2. Pitching 3. Productive outs, manufacturing runs
Our defense is always good. The bats have lots of potential to score runs but we’ve also seen pitchers with dominate stuff dominate us so that goes back to the matchup. Sometime the super can be easier than the regional actually. Say we beat coastal in their regional but the regional paired with us has an upset then we could host a super. Worked that way in 2010 Played at auburn regional and home vs Bama super
The thing about postseason play is pitchers have much much shorter leashes. There’s nothing to save for and not much time left in the season. This will benefit us as we are seeing numerous guys getting better and I still see Joe Allen contributing more than he has recently.

Barlow too. Ammons looked good in limited action. No midweek games so plenty of rest.

Ty Olenchuk and Nick Clayton as well. Still think we’ve extended Nick a little bit too long a couple times but he can good for 9 outs

But there’s still a decent amount of time in the season.
Still time to lose some of the steam

Pitching, Pitching, and Pitching is the #1 issue that I hope Bakich will fix through recruiting or the portal, and it doesn't matter how he fixes it as long as it's fixed. It has to be a really terrible thing when a HC don't have a clue what his pitchers are going to throw like when he sends them out to mound, and I don't Bakich knows that with the pitching that Monte Lee recruited for Clemson Baseball.
Right now with the way our pitching has been this season, it wouldn't bother me at all how many full or partial scholarships he would need to take back as long as he fixes our pitching issues!!! Go Tiger baseball!!!

Gotta finish out regular season at/above .500 in ACC play

Good part is we get Louisville & UNC at home, & they seem to have hit skids in April while Clemson got hot. But can't take them or VT lightly or we could see all the good from this past month get unraveled.
Considering what happened last 2 years under Lee & that we were in the ACC cellar at beginning of the month, making the NCAA Tournament alone is a success & any advancement is really gonna be them successfully punching above their weight. I think Bakich has figured out the arms he can trust - if they can work Ammons back into the weekend rotation, I think that would give them best chance to make a run.

Tbh with our current starting pitching success, i actually prefer Ammons on the back end closing games down and we can use him twice in a weekend if need be. I think our coaches are going to use him this way moving forward. I would just hate to burn him in one start where we may not even hit the ball well anyways and then it feels like you wasted him you know? It’s nice to have Ryan Ammons time in the 9th. He’s THAT dude

I think they are playing well enough to win a few games in the ACC tournament and get to a super regional
I just don’t see the talent/depth (especially relief pitching) to win the ACC or to get past a super regional.
The great thing about baseball is that if you get some hot bats and some good starting pitching, you can go on a good run.
Just don’t see the middle relief to make a sustained playoff run this year though

Either way lack of efficient pitching depth will cause for a bounce early…but it Monte had this team we wouldn’t even be in contention.
