wife out of town at a training this week, solo dad for the week.
dawghater2mom calls Sunday, says, hey dawghater2grandma got bad news from Doc, nothing else they can do and she's on her final stretch, so to say.
said eff it, threw rugrats in the truck Tuesday bout 4, shaggedass to ATL. time w/ grandma was great.
funny sidebar...I guess yesterday, she had a follow-up doc appt, yesterday around 11 or so. we discovered this as she was sitting on my mom's patio around 1030, b/c my mom asked her what the latest was and she said, I don't know, my follow-up appt was today.
mom goes...well shouldn't you have gone to that?
she goes, why? so he can tell me bad news and give me another pill? no, I'd rather be here w/ my great grand kids.

cooked her a fat steak, got some stag's leap wine, etc.
it was a great 2 days for her to hang out w/ my kids since she hasn't gotten to see them as much as either of us would like.
my original plan was to come back yesterday morning. well, we got some naders up here, so I was like, maybe I'll wait till morning.
was watching the radar and models, thinking the line would hit Nooga round 6 AM EDT. So I planned accordingly, thinking I could be in Dalton area around that time and I could swing it into a hotel if things got squirrely.
Luckily, did not get too squirrely. Mothership opened me up a nice sliver btwn this ole broad's legs and I floored it. No naders, just a lot of rain. Wind didn't even seem too bad.
But I-24 in Nooga had a spot where the water was up to my floorboard. bout had to push a civic through it.
In general, the drive home was way worse. way more screaming. 2 year old like spit up, so that was great. stopped off exit ramps three times to clean #### up, put moana on an ipad, etc.
got girls home at 9, changed clothes, fed breakfast, dropped off at daycare at 10.
additional sidebar / rant: FUCKATLANTA. gahlee man. it's like, all day, non-stop, just constant grid lock. people everywhere. I went to costco at 2 on Tuesday to get steaks and wine...waited 30 minutes for the self checkout. I despise that place.
