Yes, I read it. BU is free to pursue any ideology they wish to hitch their bandwagon with. They are even free to require, I suppose, like the very old New England tradition that any white person admitted to their university or even walking on their campus must wear a prominent "R" on their clothing, like the days of Scarlet Letter when some women were required to wear the letter "A". All I was asking if Clemson University has any trends in this direction. I graduated nearly 50 years ago, and while I make it back to campus from time to time (every decade or so), and catch most Tigers games on TV, I don't know what is the pulse of Clemson. I was hoping someone closer to the university would tell me the current vibes.

If this reflects your criteria then good luck finding a place to leave your money. There are very few schools that don't have such people, activities, departments all with the same or similar agenda. BUT there will come a backlash. I've no idea the form it will take, but folks will eventually get fed up with being treated as fools.

Well, I have always felt Clemson to be special, unique place, and remain hopeful we will pursue sane policies, not chase every fad of the day, and mainly focus on serious instructions and honest research. There will be other places to leave money, one hopes, not that I will have that much left I suspect.

By forcing hiring practices into mandatory ethnic percentages, they are actually being racist. They are favoring certain ethnicities, regardless of qualifications, to be hired based solely on color. Please tell me how this isn't racist.
I own a small company( very small). I hire whoever is most qualified. I would be hurting myself by not doing so.

Mr. Kendi's "How to be an Anti-Racist" and found his work to be that of an intellectual simpleton. Subject aside - the actual argument construction and presentation are far from what I would consider a person of deep thought or even scholarly for that matter. The fact that mostly white academic leftists have hailed it as a work of great importance speaks to how simple their thought processes have become.
For example - Chapter one of Kendi's book is titled "Definitions" where he commences to define racist as follows: "RACIST: One who is supporting a racist policy through their actions or inaction or expressing a racist idea."
So Kendi's definition of rascist is essentially "a racist is someone who is racist". That is really not a definition but a repetitive use of a word that he has yet to define. If you further read his book you will find that there is a reason Kendi doesn't really ever define these key words. Kendi wants to keep them intentionally vague so that the words "racist" and "racism" can be used as his personal weapon to label institutions, policies, people, and outcomes he does not like; facts or truth are irrelevant. Proof of actual racial discrimination is not required in Kendi's world - something is simply racist because "I say it is..."
The fact that Boston University has bought into this garbage is not a surprise. After all this is the same University that spawned such recent "deep thinkers" as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Just about every really bad idea of the last 150 years were born, justified, or spread from the halls of academia. Marxism and it's fruit (Communism, Socialism), Post Modernism, Fabianism, Facism, Nazism etc... all had academic support in the birth and/or spread of their cancerous philosophies. Kendi's "Anti-Racism" is just another in a long line of such garbage that seeks to place groups of people with the angels and the others with the devil.

I don't understand this. Her degrees are in education, and from 2nd tier universities at best, yet:
"Benton-Johnson also received faculty appointments with two colleges: the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences, and the College of Education. Benton-Johnson will report to President Clements. Her appointment is effective March 1, 2023."
At least at Clemson we don't use the letter E, for equity, which best I can understand means "Equal outcomes no matter one's talents, hard work, or even plain dumb luck (or lack there of)"
Sad to see this, I can't say if this is money well spent.
