Dabo would make a bad NFL coach, don’t waste your time. Go look elsewhere. We’ll just have to accept our lot and keep the rah, rah salesman. (sigh)

This guy knows what it takes to not succeed in the NFL. Maybe when Dabos coaching days are over this guy can give him pointers on how to become a very mediocre sportscaster.

Over the weekend there was an article about Houston and Coach Swinney And McElroy said he has covered Clemson for years and “we all know he isn’t an X and O Coach”. Swinney knows football.

I don't know if Saban would have turned out to be a good coach or not, but as a Dolphins fan he was not the issue with those Dolphins. Hell he turned a 4 win team into a 9 win team in his first season and if he hadn't gotten overridden by Randy Mueller and was allowed to sign Drew Brees like he wanted to I think those late 2000s Dolphins teams with Jason Taylor and Drew Brees would have competed for super bowls.
It doesn't mean Saban was a good NFL coach, but he wasn't a complete and utter failure like Spurrier was.

Dabo is a leader and a people person more than a football technician. He also has a philosophy that may not go over well in the NFL.
At Clemson, he can selectively recruit guys that fit with how he does things. That won't work in the NFL.
I'm not worried one bit about Dabo leaving Clemson for the NFL or another college gig. Ever.
IMO, he may leave in 4-5 years to pursue things outside of football.

I think one of the obvious proofs of Dabo's football IQ is that folks like Venables, Scott(s), and Elliott will work for him. And if you watch him during games, he's on the horn on every play. Telling a joke, or making suggestions?

Clemson (including Dabo) on their First Team radio show. Of course they give their opinions, but nothing outlandish like the bald headed guy in the afternoon who says anything and everything to increase ratings. I also think he's a quality announcer on the SEC games.

Honestly I don't see Dabo as an NFL guy, and I don't think he has any ideas to ever move there, but I'd like to see the "rah rah" quotes.

I don't really think Dabos greatest strengths translate

to the NFL either.
I think the best case scenario for Dabo is Pete Caroll, which is a quite good best case considering Pete won a SB. Unlike Dabo though, Pete had already been a DC and HC in the NFL for quite awhile before his stint at USC.

Let's see. Two games played. 19-31, 1 TD, 1 INT, 11 sacks 1 lost fumble 1-1 record. Yeah, this guy know what it takes to be successful in the NFL.

Surely he's an idiot. Just another Bama boy trying to knock Dabo.

Greg has a job and that is to give his opinion and be interesting. Not every opinion is going to be in lock step with Clemson nation. So what if Greg doesn't think he would be a good NFL coach.
I would be happy if Greg is right, I don't want Dabo being tempted to go anywhere, period.
You guys remind me of trump, who whenever someone criticizes him, he doesn't address the criticism, he just calls them a fat, loser, has been. Like a baby.
So now someone has to have a long NFL career before they're allowed to give opinions on coaches/NFL?

Personally I think Greg is right. Dabo's style is much more suited for developing young men than it is to dealing with professional football players. That's not a bad thing or a shot at Dabo, it's an acknowledgement that it takes different skill sets to succeed at the college and NFL level.

I believe he could succeed at anything he wanted to. He's just built that way. Though, I also believe he is better suited for the college game.
