the scenic beauty. Yellow Jessamine in full bloom floating all around, the sense of isolation from the rest of the lake, it just don't get any better than that from a nature standpoint.

That's a blast from my past. Made me think about Joe Dross and his landing too, along with the unforgettable Herman who helped get folks in and out of the landing. Herman's great quote was "Yas sir, y'all gonna jerk 'em out by the roots of da mouth."
Man, we used to wear out the fish on Santee. All kinds.

Run up to Sparkleberry, take Mill Creek to Otter Flats, then up to the outlet from Riser's Old Lake (Dead river). Fish crankbaits early and black and blue worms late. Good luck!

about it and it is intimidating....I have to wait and watch someone run somewhere before I am willing to do the same....It is one thing if I bust a prop...but I definitely do not want to be tossed out in Santee....

Don't go there without a stainless steel prop but you need to be careful even with that.
