Welcome aboard Recruiting Class 2022!

I know back in December, many talking heads and message board folks were ready to leave us for dead after the BV departure and the wave of decommits that hit us in the wake of that. But our coaches went right back to work in the aftermath, and I feel were able to add some nice components to the class.

The all-star games pretty much confirmed what we had coming in with Klubnik, Randall, Williams, Lukas, etc. - definitely excited to see what those guys do when their time to hit the field does come.

Getting Dudley and McCloud were huge given the losses at LB due to graduation/injury. Hopefully Lawson will get a year to hit the weights and get bigger, but he's definitely got the potential given the family ties and what he did in HS. Story is a welcome addition - hopefully he'll get a year to learn the ropes, but nice to know we got him should we have another "**** hits the fan" type deal w/ DL injuries like we had last year. & I know to casual folks that Turner, Griffin, Oliver are probably not gonna move the needle in excitement, but our coaches have been among some of the best in finding some diamonds in the rough so definitely hoping that's the case here.

HJ coming back for a year I think will be a good addition to the QB room in having a veteran guy that's had ups and downs that might be able to relate to and encourage the guys in the QB room in a way that maybe the coaches can't (although, I wouldn't be opposed to if the guy in a stroke of good karma gets to have a championship saving or clinching moment to get to end his collegiate journey on a high note).

As for the 1 negative spot on the day (the Paul situation) - here's my $0.02 on it. Had we not shown interest, had the younger Etienne came to us instead of going to FL...Paul is most likely going to Colorado. I think ultimately, Paul got big eyes for big, shiny object. He went from knowing he's going to a P5 school to "Hey Clemson wants me, they've been among the best lately" to "oh wow, the team that just won the national title wants me!" We can all say whatever about Georgia cheating, and honestly, I hate they just swooped in after literally showing no interest until we got in the mix, but it happened - he ain't here and we signed a kid that does want to be here. Move on...next (hoping that Adams Jr is alot like the old man when it comes to his gameplay & giving it his all).

Ready to see how spring ball and the 2022 season goes for our coaches, returning players, and the newest batch of Tigers!
