more. Coaching makes a big difference. We started our move to elite with Chad on offense and Brent on defense.

This was a solid ACC championship team, but to be a playoff type team Clemson wouldve needed a difference maker or two at WR who could get theirs even against top defenses...especially downfield threats. Perhaps there was chemistry lacking in the pass game in this department, but besides the stellar freshman Antonio Williams, their wasnt much of a consistent threat at WR, & he wasnt utilized as a downfield guy either.
I still think we couldve made the playoff if we committed to the run game by giving our RBs 30 plus carries a game, and also utilizing our tight ends such that they were the main focus in the pass game...The strength of the offense was the running game & tights ends...too much emphasis was placed on getting the ball to the wideouts, which clearly was not the strength of this years offense.

personnel lends more to the run game. Pretty easy to see. Maybe not for Streeter.

We started our move to elite when DW arrived

under Chad we were winning 10-11 games with far more skill at WR than this team has, Dwayne Allen at TE, and Ellington at RB. Not to mention Boyd, who yes, was better than DJ.
RB is the only position you could say is better now.

Idk about that. Chad had elite skill position players. We had a bad oline at the time though. Bad defense and lack of offensive adjustments during certain games held us back big time in those days.
Streeter is limited being stuck with DJ for 90% of the year and having no receiver threat. Oline was serviceable at best this year but reared their head against teams with equal talent or size. He also has the problem of just absolute garbage preparation some games or non adjustments or playcalling.
Streeter is no chad but he doesn't have the same firepower Chad had either.

If we had all of the players that Chad had, and he was at the helm, we would have been in the playoff and would have been undefeated going into it.

I thought Chad was terrible.

I remember so many times his playcalling treated the offense like they were a bunch of talentless babies, when we were anywhere close to our end of the field. He made them play scared, over and over. 3 runs up the middle, punt. That’s what I remember and nobody’s changing my mind.

I’m not a Chad fan either. Once the substitution rule was put in, Chad was basically Streeter. The Jeff Scott/ Tony Elliott combo was our best OC by far
