We shouldn't be #2 because there's no way we are the second best team in college football. We were one play away from the same fate as LSU and Okla playing (yes) an unranked opponent. Now, Auburn's defense is the best in the world. Sheesh.

No, but definitely one of the best...but Vandy's D was pretty good too. So chalk it up as an accomplishment for you guys moving forward.

Just like on here, the media seems to feel we didn't meet expectations (not me, but some), and I'm not sure they believe Auburn is that great. That remains to be seen, but after watching the game again yesterday, they had one heck of a D. Almost as good as ours!

Why does it matter? It's week 1. Let's just win out and not worry about polls that don't even effect the CFP rankings

It matters a lot if you drop in the rankings it means you're not playing good.
We must get better each week because it's going to be hard to win a NC.
When you are an elite program you stay at the top of the polls.
So yea it matters

IMO - Houston should be top 5 after curb-stomping OU and the mighty Baker Mayfield. JMO though. They will finish in the Final Four this year, so it's just a matter of beating UL and cruising thru their schedule. Meanwhile, we have to beat FSU, GT, UL, and probably Miami or UNC to get there. Beating OU is an annual thing for us, but it won't matter because BM promised the nation that he was the greatest and could not be beat.

I don't think Choklahoma was as good as Auburn this weekend. Auburn's D is really good. Had they had any O they would have taken better advantage of our playing down this week-end.
