since it had been faster in their earlier Spring practices.
So, what could have changed that important aspect of what Coach Riley wants done tempo-wise when it came time to do it on the big stage Saturday?

Injury risks.
Running tempo means more folks flying around and it puts an added risk for injury on both sides of the ball.
If that were the reason it'd be a smart play but there could be other variables involved too like not wanting to show too much for opponents before we start play or just wanting to treat this like a glorified practice to focus on the basics.

David Hood has already written that the plays that we saw on Saturday were not the same plays that he has seen in practice. I feel that we will not see the true offensive scheme until the Florida State game. So be prepared to watch three games if basic offense until then.

One thing everyone should know by now is that the spring game is very simple and vanilla. No need to show the world what we are capable of in a game against ourselves. Now if this is all we have to offer on offense then we should be very worried. However we were missing a lot of players as well so I will wait until the first game before I give my opinion.

Cade doesn’t always say what the coaches want him to say. I remember his response after the ACC championship game when he was asked how much he had practiced with the starters.
