What would you be satisfied with in 2013?

As I saw what Boyd and Watkins could do two seasons ago, I've been looking forward to 2013. This past year we ended on a high note and I feel we had a fairly successful season.
We have quality recruits coming in, but it's time now for the tiger team we know to lay it out there. I feel like it's time to win them all. 1 loss probably keeps us out of championship contention but I'd love that result. Any worse and I think it's going to feel wasted.
I hate having such high expectations going into a season but I really can't set the bar for my expectations lower that. Give me some perspective. What would you consider to be a "successful" 2013 season?

I'd agree with you. UGA, FSU, and SCAR will most likely be

highly ranked when we play them. If one loss came from one of them, I'd rather it be FSU and beat UGA and SCAR. There is still a chance to win the ACC even if we lose to FSU. The ACC champion losing to another SEC team would just keep the hype machine going. As much as I'd like to say going to the NCG I think too many things have to go our way, or any team for that matter. Look at all the close calls Auburn had the year they bought a title.
11-1, ACC Champion, Orange Bowl win I'd say should be a reasonable expectation. Not winning the ACC with a loss to SCAR would be pretty disappointing, but not a fireable offense.

I am okay with a 2 loss as long as we beat SCAR. I would like to win an Orange Bowl if we can't run the table though, which I think is very doable if we win games we should win. 0-2 vs the SEC would be a "bad year" in my book.
If I could ask for one thing (after a SCAR win) though, it would be that we play tough nosed defense every single down next year. If we do that and lose some, so be it.

I will be satisfied going 2-0 against the SEC, winning the ACC Atlantic and Championship game ...and then whipping whosywhatsit in the National CG .

any more than one loss will be disappointing

I'm expecting an improvement over last year, and that means no more than one loss. Honestly, though, I think we should be undefeated.

Would the 1 loss matter to whom?

Last year we didn't "pull a Clemson" as some would say. But if our 1 conference loss come at the hands of Maryland or Duke, we would have achieved more of our goals (division champs... probably ACC champs).
Maybe it's the bowl win, but I feel better about the 2012 team than the 2011 ACC champ team who ended up with more "strategic" losses.
So lets say this time next year if we are looking back at a 1 loss season, I think I still feel better about dropping 1 to a good opponent (that doesn't have a chicken for a mascot).

I only get *mad* when we lose to an inferior team

When we played FSU last year, they really were the better team. By the end of the year, I don't think that was still the case, but I didn't get *mad* at that loss. I was disappointed, but not mad.
The Lamecocks game was another story. I think we were the better team, but our game prep wasn't where it needed to be. We looked lost on offense dealing with Doodoo. I was *mad* after that game because at home, against the backup QB, we *should* have won.
As far as who would make me mad to lose to next year, probably everyone but UGA. Even then, I still think we beat the Leghumpers at home, but I consider them the only opponent you could even begin to call the better team (and that'd be a huge stretch with them).

I go by the Dabo School of Sucess: 1) Win the opener. 2) Win the division. 3) Win the conference. 4) Beat your rival. That should get u to 10-2 ,or better 11- 1 most seasons.Winning your BCS ,or major bowl game would be icing on the cake and get you a top 10,even a top 7 finish.

I'm a pessimist.

I expect three games to be close. I also expect Dabo to hug some female sideline reporter so hard he breaks a few of her ribs and we have to pay the medical bills. The guys will break the crystal trophy doing the harlem shake and it'll cost 2 or 3 hundred to replace.
Sammy won't go pro and we won't get any 5 star WR recruits. Watson will be so 'ALL IN!' that SEC teams will stop recruiting him and he'll drop to a two star. The Chad won't be recruited for any HCing jobs and everybody will think he's just another putz OC.
Venables will really rip SOS's nuts off and that'll be another court date and lawyer fee. Then, while we are courting a number one recruiting class the AJC will burn down and we won't have anybody to tell us what's going on with our recruits day and night for two or three months.
Gloom, dispair and agony on me. Deep dark depression...

We have everything we need this year to make it happen. Unless we have serious injury problems this should be an undefeated year.......
