What do you think should be the offensive strategy with a decimated O line?

besides score more points.

Use that funky Goal Line formation with 3 OL at the LOS every play.

And have Cade run for his life every down.

You have to try to establish the power run game and wear them down. Ideally you run some screens to the RB and TEs to keep the DL guessing. On passing downs you have no choice but to go max protect and expect Wesco, Williams, and Moore to win

medium & medium-longish routes - over the middle especially. I have zero confidence we'll change that. Hope I'm wrongon that, but the track record even with a healthy OL is stale.

Cola has a good front so we have to test their backs, which we will. The OL will determine the W/L.

Max protect is a concern because of mediocre blocking by our TEs

1

Nov 27, 2024, 9:38 PM [ in reply to Re: What do you think should be the offensive strategy with a decimated O line? ]

Ah, for the days when Davis Allen was the blocking beast of TEs.

Other than Mafah and to some degree K.Adams Jr (not much data to go on), I have little optimism about our max protect proficiency.

Hope I’m wrong.

Tempo tempo tempo!! We have enough WR'S and RB's that we should be able to quick game them.. Tbey are big and strong, but can they defend 85 plays?? Risk of 3 and outs exists but Case has shown accuracy running it this way..if I were coach, I'd role the dice.

You can't run tempo on SEC teams. They all have sideline signals for defensive players to develop "cramps."

It doesn't matter because the O-line won't be decimated on Saturday. But the game plan needs to be run straight at Stewart and Kennard. Id run it until they prove they can stop it. Id even have 2 back set wrinkles with Haynes catching the ball on wheel routes.

I think that the route has gone cold with us bc everybody expects bc we ran so much with DW4 and TL16, and everybody we play look for it. I would do what has to now worked pretty good with Cade, speed the game up and wear them down. The do have a good D, but they don't have the depth to back them up...

We should have a couple of starting linemen back. Not decimated. Finding guys for quick passes like we did early against Pitt is the answer

Trent Howard is out. Our OL depth is being tested. Not many teams could withstand so many injuries to their OL and win.

If the OL is missing Tate throw out all the plays with a pulling guard.

Zone blocking scheme. Lots of offtackle and Duo.

Get Antonio Williams the ball, line him up in the backfield, have him moving on motion plays, see if you can't get a lb or safety on him.

Chip with TEs when passing downfield and get Brinningstool busy in between the hashes.

If Cade can't get a clean pocket use more designed rollout plays.

I think Clemson should spread the coots out and make them cover the whole field along with running up tempo no huddle offense.

Move the pocket to give Cade more time. Pass on early downs and I don’t mean screen passes. Stretch the field and keep them honest so then the running game opens up. I would also use Haynes more. He is not as powerful as Mafah, but is more slippier.
