Ultimately the fire chief has the authority.
The fire chief is a good personal friend.
The previous fire chief actually made the decision. If the current chef kept it in place, there's a good, legal reason for it.
I agree that the hill looked good covered in orange, but appearance is a secondary consideration.

A one size fits all safety policy is a rather silly thing. It leads to misapplied regulations. How many years was it packed and it was just an incredible stroke of luck someone wasn't killed? A little common sense can go a long way sometimes...

Hopefully veterans can get back on the field at halftime during military appreciation ceremonies. The last guy was vocal when he got here that he was against it and used Covid as an excuse to make it go away and not come back.

It's probably more a time constraint thing at half time getting them grouped by the branch of service and on field from seats and back . There is limited time at the intermission. Would it not make more sense to do it pregame like they used to have that parade of Olympic athletes before the game?

She will be able to relax and prep for retirement. My kid was looking at OSU (major bullet dodged) and one thing I did was look at police logs for all of the contenders. Columbus is a dump and very sketchy stuff abuts campus. The log for OSU read like a big city paper: car jacking, assaults, shooting… Clemson was bike stolen, alcohol, alcohol, alcohol… No brainer.
