Couldnt put it away and too passive of play calling down the stretch. Need to trust DW and the O and not just run dives.

Agree, we won't always come out on the winning side if we play too conservative. This will be a good learning experience for our secondary as well. ND had lots of yardage in the air and should of had more if it weren't for the drops.

For real, why the heck do we build an explosive offense and play conservative. Up the middle... I could've told you exactly what we were gonna do before it played out.

For all we complained the past couple of years about Chad's play calling...holy crap are we missing him. The play calling tonight was absolutely terrible. Deshone Kizer looked twice as good as Watson tonight. Our staff treated Watson like a freshman on the road. I'm very, very happy we won, but wow did we look horrible offensively. The whole plan from our offensive coordinators once we got a lead: uhhhhh, uhhhh, uhhhhhh just have Watson do a stutter draw up the middle for 1 yard and then we'll punt it. Just let Venables do everything.

We committed the ultimate sin with a big lead because we played not to lose instead of playing to win, and miraculously survived. In Venables we are going to have to trust. The OC's have lost my confidence as of now with the 2nd half play calling. I'm wet ,cold but happy with the win.

I am off the Scott Elliott band wagon. How do you waste the talent we have. If DW is so good what is the issue. Look for the Zerrick Cooper decommit if this offense continues.

Telling you reminded me of James Davis and bowden. All else fails run up gut. None the less, proud of the team, and their heart and skillz. Pretty sure norte dame didn't purposely give us a win against all odds.

ND's QB threw for 320 yards. Watson threw for 97. Yes it was raining, but a coach who knows how to call plays (Kelly) showed it can be done. Not only did they do it, they did it with a lesser QB, against a better defense!
Meanwhile, our offensive coordinators were calling the same stutter draws for Watson all night, which failed miserably against Louisville repeatedly. Our staff had 18 days to come up with solutions, and this is what they did? Pretty embarrassing.
