repeat of this season over and over, with zero improvement, year-in-year-out, for eternity.

Some commenters use italics to indicate sarcasm, while others prefer the traditional ending of /s. Others eschew any indication of sarcasm as a dilution of wit. Before down voting somebody, ask yourself, "Could this be sarcasm?"

You have to be realistic

Just being HONEST.

What do you think is realistic for Clemson in basketball?

They made the big dance and I think that is an outstanding season

Go hire Pitino if you’re serious about winning

I don’t want to turn this into a “he’s a bad guy” or any of that but I’m talking about hiring the best Possible coach that actually would come to CU to compete with the Blue Bloods in the ACC or just live with our one and done result every year.

Is this the same question Alabama was asking two years ago, when they were deciding on their then-current coach who was supposed to be the future?

It’s like UGa football, we never win the big games, of course we don’t have loaded talent. I’d take Kirby as our basketball coach as long as he doesn’t ask boosters to pay players. He would do well with recruiting anyway!

“Let’s make the others want to be like us” Dabo Swinney!!

The best is yet to come!! I’m so grateful for Clemson Football going into the 2020’s

A repeat of this season, over and over, would exponentially improve our basketball history.

We have people on here barking like we’ve got a trophy case the caliber of a basketball blue blood. We also make fun of the chickens for doing the same in football.

some kind of basis for measuring our success is sad and pathetic on every level and is the mark of a loser, and all but guarantees failure going forward. Think big, aim high, or just give the f*ck up!

You’re confusing a conscious understanding that where we are is in an actual good place with being content with the status quo.

I’m sorry your little brain cannot comprehend it.

OP was talking about this very attitude. Pathetic. Absolutely 100% pathetic.

“Well, this is who we are, and I guess this is who we’ll always be.” I cannot comprehend how and why people would live life with this attitude.

The #### are you talking about? Living with “better than we’ve ever been” isn’t bad, is it?

Wanting more isn’t a bad thing, but you wanting to be Jeff Bezos is a bit unrealistic.

Yes this season is better than some and no one thinks we are about to be Duke or UNC.

But to be happy with meh over and over again is just sad. We should strive to be better and not accept mediocre.

It's not that we had a bad season. Making the 68 is wonderful. It's the bone headed, scratch your head losses that are all too common that most get upset about.

We play Rutgers during the season, we probably win 8 out of 10 times.

no way we beat them 8 out of 10 with our offense and rebounding

I absolutely don’t understand that way of life. I cannot comprehend how someone can accept being mediocre and being ok with it. But there are plenty on here who are.

It’s one thing if you’re arrogant and trying to convince yourself that we’re improving (Judge Keller). It’s an entirely different (and pathetic) way of life to accept the fact that this is who we will be with Brad Brownell as head coach and be totally ok with it.

You cannot comprehend how you live with your mediocre life?

That’s tough.

Negative ghost rider.

It’s ok to say we had an extremely good regular season and a #### poor end to the season.

We didn't have an "extremely good" regular season by any

Posted: Mar 19, 2021, 11:52 PM

objective standard; only by the standard of a fan base who has been beat down like a dog for it's entire existence. We finishe FIFTH PLACE for God's sake - that's not terrible, but when did FIFTH PLACE become "extremely good"? Good grief!

I mean we obviously had a good season to make it to the dance. The OOC wins at the beginning were good and we split with some top conf teams too. The problem I have with Brad is he predictably doesn’t win the games he should, sometimes in embarrassing fashion too. The 35 point loss to UVA. The twenty something point loss to Duke. The Miami game in the ACC tourney and now this. Idk. I’d almost trade some of those games we weren’t supposed to win if we’d just take care of business in the others. It’s inconsistent and unpredictable and usually bites us at the worst times.

If Brad stays , we desperately need a new offensive coordinator.

This is not a comment based on 1 game or 1 season. It’s knowing that every single game, there is going to be 6 minute stretch where your going to outscored 11-0. Sometimes u can escape it, however in the postseason, your going to get beat(ACC Tourny, NCAA Tourny).

Neither Miami nor Rutgers are world beaters themselves, it’s just knowing when you play, every single game it’s maddening to watch such bad offense.

Who knows maybe we could hire another cheerleader to turn our program around and take us all the way

which means a joyless existence on the basketball court.

The question on TigerNet for too many is not if Clemson Hoops won or lost, or if the team played well, or even if the team gave a complete effort. Their barometer is to ask if the Clemson fans supported a coach who recruits marginal players, does not develop their games, plays a boring brand of ball, generates no alumni, fan or player enthusiasm, and has been paid $25M plus for being mediocre for 11-12 years. Yes, he seems to be a nice and well meaning guy. But do not be misled into comparing the Brownell .500 seasons to the Bill Foster or Cliff Ellis seasons when the ACC was college basketball's tour de force.
