Tucker is a traitor to the American ideal. He always has been.
America at its base is neither a monarchy - we fought a war to break with that - or a Communist nation where everybody is absolutely equal. Our ideal lies somewhere in the middle: that we do not exist in a classless society, but we do live in a meritocracy where people can earn a better life and the ladder to success should remain open.
That isn't Tucker's thing. At all. Tucker is the scion of the Swanson Foods fortune. He's a blueblood, an oligarch, with a noble-versus peasants mentality, and he's always come at the world with the viewpoint of controlling the rabble even as he wears an everyman schtick. He's even admitted this openly on radio broadcasts he probably wishes he could take back.
Why does he support Russia? It's simple. Russia's an oligarchy, where the peasants are kept well and truly in line, and the rich and powerful get to do whatever they want. And oh, yeah, in the process they'll also saw off the rungs of the ladder of success so nobody else can climb it and challenge them. And this runs directly counter to the founding ideal of America...which was never supposed to have royalty or nobility ever again.
Tucker's admitted this is his thing. His own viewers just don't want to believe it because they want to believe his schtick.

I watched a 14 minute clip of this snippet just now, waiting for him to redeem himself, but he didn't.
Most of the clip was talking about the Washington DC war-hawks, calling Kamala Harris dumb. I agree with those opinions, but the Putin comments are no good.
Somebody on this post was waiting for a conservative to denounce Tucker Carlson for what he said.

Tucker is supposed to be conservative and it's evident that he's taking sides with a dictator. The big difference between the "lefty Covid dictators" as you would call them is that they are/were trying to save lives and Putin is willfully and unjustly taking them.

Maybe you didn’t listen to Putin’s reasons for invading. Dictators will justify by whatever means necessary. Like we are “following the science” even when the “science” says the opposite.

Yep, I heard about Putin's reasons which included this:
“Its goal is to protect people who have been subjected to abuse and genocide by the regime in Kyiv for eight years. And for this we will pursue the demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine, as well as bringing to justice those who committed numerous bloody crimes against civilians, including citizens of the Russian Federation."
Denazification and faux genocide sound like rational justifications for war to you? Remember that Zelinski is jewish btw. And I would guess that you would pull a Trump at this point and and say "But but but, the US and NATO are evil also". And you would be somewhat justified. NATO should have never expanded east after the Cold War. There was no real reason for it and we may further pay that price in the next few years. Funny that Lincoln's words of "with malice towards none" worked so well after WW2(Japan and Germany are prime examples) and NATO didn't follow that principle with Russia. Also funny that Putin never really said much about NATO expansion when the economy and things were better in Russia in the 2000's.
Anyway, we all know the real reasons for this war are. As far as you're references to "following the science” and "domestic dictators", it's not something that can be rationally discussed on this board anymore and that has been proven time and time and time again. So, no use, wasted breath.
